SSE Weekly Colloquium | 理工学院系列研讨会邀请
The School of Science and Engineering is committed to creating a platform for students and faculty members to exchange ideas and explore cutting-edge research developments in various fields of science and engineering. Starting from 2021 fall, SSE will organize the "Weekly Colloquium" series of seminars every Friday. Each week, SSE will invite our faculty members and distinguished guest speakers from outside the University to conduct academic seminars.
All students and faculty members are invited to join the weekly colloquium!

Abstract
In this talk, we will explore the crucial role of material advancements in driving semiconductor device innovation. We will begin by discussing how the development of new materials has enabled the creation of devices with better electrical and thermal properties, resulting in more efficient and sustainable systems. We will then examine how wide bandgap semiconductors are driving the development of new device technologies, and the potential impact of these technologies in various fields, including lighting, power electronics, and high frequency electronics. Finally, we will explore current trends and future directions in discrete semiconductor device research and development.
