SONOGRAPHER
Sonographer Registered- Maternal Fetal Medicine / Saint Joseph Health System/Part Time
Job Description (Please follow all instructions carefully)
Overview
Responsibilities and duties
Conducts diagnostic and vascular ultrasonography procedures in order to provide data used by physicians in diagnosis and treatment purposes. Relays pertinent clinical information to the interpreting physician and observes patients during procedures for any abnormalities.
Job Specifications and Core Competencies
Education: Completion of two/three years of occupationally specific education beyond high school in radiologic technology, ultrasonography, other related education, or on the job training/education.
Licensure
ARRT, ARDMS, RDCS, Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), equivalent certification or Registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must obtain registry status within 3 years of hire. CPR certification.
Experience
Completion of at least two years of occupationally specific education beyond high school in radiologic technology, ultrasonography, other related education, or on the job training.
Other Job Requirements
Requires the knowledge to learn and understand ultrasound physics. The ability to recognize and demonstrate pertinent anatomy and pathology is vital. Requires the ability to consistently perform at a high level of mental effort while performing tasks accurately and without error. Analytical skills are required to perform ultrasound tasks accurately as well as handling multiple tasks at the same time. Requires independent judgment with the ability to perform any examination without direct supervision. Work requires direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.

About Us
Our client, a small hospital located in North Central NM, about 45 mins from Santa Fe, has a need for an Ultrasound/Vascular Tech to join their team. You can expect to be doin general ultrasound scans in Ab, OB/GYN, small parts as well as vascular studies and perhaps even breast ultrasounds. Our biggest business is outpatient. Our daily census on the floor is about 10-12. We are located in a small mountain town just below the Jemez mountains. We are about 45 minutes from Santa Fe, 2 hours from Albuquerque, NM. Our community is highly educated and very health conscious. We have our own ski hill, golf course, aquatic center. Our schools are the best in the state. Being small facility lends to a family like atmosphere with our staff. Our facility focuses on quality initiatives and a culture of safety. The views and hiking are incredible
Responsibilities and duties
Performs and assists with RVT and Diagnostic exams according to physician orders to provide accurate and optimal diagnostic results. Demonstrates knowledge of radiation safety procedure and exposure factors to ensure quality patient care. Thi9s position reports to the Director of Imaging. Participates on assigned teams and committees. Follow safety standards in all functions to meet employee and patient safety goals. Expected to adhere to LAMCs service standards and values in all interactions with patients, other customers, and fellow employees.
Job Requirements
Qualifications: Association of Registered Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT (S)), RVT Certification required
Education: HSD/GED, Graduate of a school of Ultrasound Technology/Radiologic Technology
Experience: At least 1 year of experience.
