Overview
Responsibilities and Duties
→ Meet with patients in 30 to 60 minute appointments.
→ Talk with clients about symptoms, medical history, and desired results.
→ Evaluate clients to locate painful or tense areas of body.
→ Discuss treatment options and preventative measures.
→ Educate patients on topics such as meditation, ergonomics, stretching, exercise, nutrition, the healing process, breathing, and relaxation techniques.
→ Treat patients using tools such as needles, cups, ear balls, seeds, pellets, and nutritional supplements.
→ Insert needles to the appropriate body part for treatment.
→ Maintain detail and complete patient records and health care plans and prognoses.
→ Monitor patients’ progress.
→ Consider Western medical procedures in health assessment, health care team communication, and care referrals.
→ Ensure and follow all standard quality, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures.
→ Adhere to local, state and federal laws, regulations and statutes.
→ Evaluate treatment outcomes and recommend new or altered treatments as necessary to further promote, restore, or maintain health.
Requirements:
▲ Must be licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and National Certifications (NCCAOM).
▲ Herbal medicine training and certification would be a plus.
