[STUDENT BLOG] Eight Years of Growth at YCIS Beijing
As part of our series of graduation student blogs, we chatted with Class of 2016 student Nthabiseng Lekaota about her experience studying at YCIS Beijing, plus learned some of her tips for future graduates and her plans for the future.
My name is Nthabiseng Lekaota, I am 18 years old and I come from Lesotho. I have been at YCIS Beijing for eight years now. It has been a memorable experience; I remember first coming to the school with minimal English and only having a few friends, but now I have grown to be a confident and outgoing person who gets along with many people.
What IB subjects did you choose? How did you feel about the IB programme?
I chose Psychology, Global Politics, English Language and Literature, Mandarin Chinese, and Mathematics. The IB programme is challenging but I believe what I learned through the two years will be beneficial during my university years.
How are you feeling now that you have graduated from YCIS Beijing?
I am excited that I am moving on to a new chapter in my life, but at the same time I feel anxious to leave all these great teachers and friends that I have made through the years here at YCIS Beijing. I am still very nervous about going to university since it is a new experience for me.
