Chinese Learning outside Classroom Walls
Throughout their academic careers at the Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing), students are constantly exposed to stimulating Chinese language and culture learning opportunities.
Secondary School students experience this aspect of the curriculum through daily intensive Chinese lessons, but Chinese language and culture learning doesn't stop in the classroom. Experiencing China Programme is an example of learning outside the classroom walls. At a local level, students also engage in projects, like the recent Honglingjin Park interviews undertaken by some Secondary School students which offered them the opportunity to gain real-world language and culture experience.
We sat down with Secondary School Chinese as an Additional Language (CAL) teacher Andrea Kang who explained the project in detail and how our kids benefited from it.
