四年级社交媒体活动-拯救濒危动物

In the Social Studies topic, ‘Connected Lives’, our Year 4s have been learning all about plants and animals. The students have learned that living things all perform the seven life processes and explored how living things can be classified. Most importantly, the students worked out that living things all rely on each other to survive: ecosystems are in an equilibrium and even a small change can knock an environment out of balance, causing dire effects. Following up, the Year 4 students researched what happens when an ecosystem is no longer in equilibrium through their study on endangered plants and animals both in Social Studies and English Literacy.

在社会科学的“链接生命”主题单元中，四年级的学生学习了关于植物和动物的相关知识。同学们了解到生物有七个生命阶段并探索如何将生物分类。最重要的是学生们发现生物之间彼此互相依存：生态系统处于平衡状态，即使一个小的改变也可以对生态平衡造成破坏、造成可怕的影响。随后四年级学生在社会科学和英语文学课上调研濒危动植物在生态系统不平衡状态下会发生什么。

In Social Studies, the students chose a specific plant or animal to become their focal point and launched a social media campaign to raise awareness to protect these fragile living things. They created powerful posts aimed to raise awareness and call their audience to action.

社会科学课上同学们选择了一个具体的植物或者动物作为他们的研究对象，利用社交媒体作为传播媒介号召人们保护脆弱的生物。她们设计了有影响力的宣传文案，旨在倡导大众行动起来。

All Year 4 students engaged in this task with enthusiasm due to the real-life impact their work can have. Our Year 4 teacher, Mr Francis Burgess, shares that it has been a pleasure to be a part of this topic and to see the passion from his students. After the recent topic of sustainability, the students felt very strongly about how much difference a single person can make in reversing environmental damages. Together with 100 of their peers, they can even achieve even greater goals!

四年级的所有学生都热情地参与到这份工作中，因为他们知道自己的努力可能带来实际影响。我们四年级的Burgess老师分享道，非常高兴跟同学们学习这个主题，从中也看到了同学们的热情。继最近可持续单元学习之后，学生们更加强烈地感受到一个人在减少环境伤害方面能够发挥巨大的作用。和其他一百多位同学一起，他们可以达到更大的目标！
