Student Blog: Get Your Kicks With Kickboxing
In this edition of student blogs, Youngeun Baek, our Year 12 student, talks about her passion for the Kickboxing Club, one of many unique Co-curricular activities offered at the school.
What CCAs are you involved in currently?
I am involved in several Co-curricular activities, including orchestra, Roots and Shoots, and kickboxing. Among them, my favourite CCA is kickboxing. In the Kickboxing Club, we learn the basics of striking and defense so that we can improve our flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and strength.
What drew you to this CCA initially?
When I was in Korea, I started to learn a kind of Korean martial arts with a heavy emphasis on kicks called Taekwondo. It increased my interest in sports and thus I was very enthusiastic about joining the Kickboxing Club when I came to YCIS Beijing.
