如果你认为这仅仅是一个逗趣的故事,看完之后,哈哈大笑几下就没了,这就错了。
首先这本书的文字很少,少到了极致,几乎就像是这些图画的简短说明。
但是千万不要忽视了这些文字,正是它们言简意赅地告诉我们:这是一个关于宽容的故事,在令人欢欣的图画背后,含蓄地表达了一个关于耐心和忠诚的思想。

还有作者,埃里克·罗曼是一名优秀的画家、版画家和作家,1957年出生于美国伊利诺伊州。他拥有亚利桑那州立大学和伊力诺依州立大学的美术学位。平时除了写作儿童书和为儿童书画插图之外,他还教授绘画和版画。
目前,他的艺术作品被很多画廊展出,并被博物馆作为永久性的收藏。

Discussion topics for before reading朗读前:
1. 家长先简单地和孩子一起只看图片,看封面的时候可以用以下的问题启发孩子:
你觉得这本书大概讲什么内容?(What do you think the story is about?)
书主人公的名字可能会叫什么?(What do you think the characters' names are?)
引导孩子认真观察图片,这有助于绘本的理解。
2.然后拓展引申话题:
你在学校里和朋友一起做什么?(What kinds of things do you do with your friends?)
你们会吵架吗?为什么要吵?(Ever get in trouble together? Why?)
你有没有曾经在朋友有困难的时候帮助过他们?(Ever help each other out?)
Discussion topics for during/after reading朗读中/后:
1. 在故事的开始部分,小兔子碰到什么麻烦了?(What trouble does Rabbit have in the beginning of the story? )
哪个动物帮助他了? (What animals helped him? )
2. 你认为小兔子和小老鼠还做其他什么活动吗?( What other activities do you think Rabbit and Mouse do?)
3. 还有什么办法可以将飞机从树上拿下来? (What is another way they could have gotten the plane down? )
5.你觉得故事的最后小兔子有什么好主意?(What do you think Rabbit's idea is at the end of the book?)
6.你觉得小兔子和小老鼠为什么会成为好朋友? (Why do you think Mouse and Rabbit are friends? )
7.当小兔子将他最心爱的飞机飞到树上的时候,你觉得小老鼠有什么样的心情?(How do you think Mouse felt when his friend Rabbit flew the airplane into the tree?)
数学能力之排列顺序:
准备一纸板,将绘本中所有的动物全部复印剪下来备用,在纸板上用粗黑笔用英语写上First, second, third, fourth, fifth等顺序,让孩子根据绘本中故事情节发生顺序来排列,如果孩子能够记住的话,鼓励他们回忆故事情节排序;对故事较陌生的孩子参考书本,多次以后,孩子很容易便能记住顺序的英语说法。
和孩子一起唱Old McDonald Had a Farm的歌曲,将绘本中出现的动物一个个唱出来,孩子自己想像这些动物会发出什么声音。
