Night Swimmer - Xia Ye 

Wuhan’s Night Swimmer - the underground electronic producer known for his rich tapestry of vaporware, psychedelia, new age, and world music returns with his latest deep dive - Xia Ye - released with Shy People. Pushing forward the artist’s fascination with ‘whimsical samples and animated analog synth sounds’ the LP finds solace within the intersection between the past and the future; between the spiritual and the commercial. Invoking a 80s Hong Kong soundtrack that has found its way into the humid jungles, it's a much more melodically driven and club friendly release, and simply put, a pleasure to get lost in.

CTAFAD - Chiaroscuro/Sun Dawei - 後右 Hòu Yòu

The ever-prolific Sun Dawei, known to most as Sulumi, has been an active member of the electronic scene in China and Japan for over twenty years. He returns with two new releases - one under his latest moniker CTAFAD (‘carve the atoms from a diamond’) and new imprint GXSX - and one under his household name Sun Dawei. While the former focuses on the producer’s techno roots (and features a stellar remix from French duo Atomic Moog) the latter sees the artist in full-on ambient mode, weaving dense atmospheric soundscapes with more rhythmic maneuvers.

SHINNNN - Border

Dark industrial electronica form Beijing, SHINNNN is the moniker of veteran producer and promoter Wen Xin, of psytrance label Kunlun. While the warmer-hued vibes of that genre are nowhere to be found here, the producer’s latest, Borders, released with Dying Art Productions, offers plenty of sublime - just of a more twisted variety. Wrapping listeners into its abrasive, cold and obscure world, it’ll provide catharsis for those willing to charge headfirst into the mouth of madness.
