虽然因为疫情，经历了几次曲折反复，由“BORDERLESS”主办的8小时摇滚俱乐部的第12期依旧于上周日在杭州顺利进行。这是一个格外的摇滚之夜-有人可能会说是鞭笞式的-从打嗝海狸的非传统另类后朋克音乐（今年最负盛名的“最佳乐队取名”获得者）到垃圾食品的乐观和充满活力的校园摇滚；从汉堡自杀俱乐部的先锋电子朋克到鲁莽放纵的合成流行音乐。真的，不羁和快乐地在整个空间里回荡-这是一种享受，沉浸在一些新的声音里，遇到一些老熟人，以及回到我最喜欢的城市之一。

感谢所有的乐队、赞助商、场地和来参加的朋友们。在这个行业一次又一次延迟取消的趋势下，我们还是会文明勇敢地向前迈进。

As a musician friend told me on Sunday night - there is no money in the music industry anymore. An exaggerated statement for sure but it’s no question the pandemic (sorry, I mean the policies around it) has hobbled countless bands and promoters this past year. Axed tours, lockdowned bands, and venues trying to survive with 30 percent audience caps - a trail of destruction and fatigue that has left many feeling like Sisyphus.

Such was the case with the first edition of our Roving Circus tour - meant to be a celebration of aspiring and under-seen bands making the leap and hitting the road. But alas, as was expected, things fell apart all too quickly with both of our touring bands getting stuck in some form of lockdown (sorry, I mean static management for those trying to keep up with their doublespeak). Two cities and two bands less - we decided to forge ahead with the last date - at Loopy Live - calling in all favors to wrangle together a lineup we could be proud of - volume 12 of the 8 Hour Rock n Roll Club. 

After many hiccups and road blocks, Volume 12 of the 8 Hour Rock n Roll Club - hosted with none other than Borderless came to be last Sunday. It was night of eclectic sounds - whiplash inducing one might say - canvassing from the unconventional alt post punk of Hiccup Otter (winner of the prestigious ‘Best Band Name This Year’) to the upbeat and full-bloodied campus rock of Junk Food; from the avant-electro punk of BurgerSuicideClub to the slick propulsive synth pop of Reckless Abandon. Truly, unruly and gleefully all over the place sonically - it was a pleasure to dip into some new sounds, catch up with old acquaintances, and pop back into one of my favorite cities. 

Thanks to all the bands, sponsors, venues and people who came. And here’s to courageously and foolhardily forging ahead in a industry that has spit one out again and again.
