As if on a dare - Hangzhou hardcore act Stick Xiaoming Again And Again 反复攻击小明 have taken their turbulent exasperating sound and subdued it on their brilliant new release 节外生枝. Not only stretching out their lyrics so they can be properly understood for once, the band also seems to be paying respect to punk it all its ramshackle glory - branching out and pogoing from tender pop punk anthems to grifter more combustible street punk with ease. Sprinkled between dirtied-up live recordings of the band as well as their go-to bouts of savage hardcore pillaging, it makes for a righteous diorama of punk music from one of the scene’s most underrated acts.

The band lays it all out there on their debut self-titled LP - exerting their punishing hard-driving sound with precision and old school reverence - crawling at the edge of society from one growling line delivery to the next.
