人们或许会说北京艺术朋克乐队丢莱卡是在去年早些时候带着众人翘首以盼的首专冉冉升起成为新星的，但其实并不只是这样。实际上，这个乐队已经默默成长了五年有余——打磨音乐，巡回演出，并稳步建立起他们自己的粉丝群体……我记得在2017年底看他们演出的时候，他们已经在闪耀了。当丢莱卡靠着青春期的魅力和摇滚的放肆力量为所有人喜爱时，很明显他们仍然在扩展他们的声音——似乎触及了从艺术摇滚到朋克间的一切。令人惊讶的是，乐队这一路成长了许多。他们的情感贯穿了一种赤裸裸的、脱胎换骨的、带有苦乐参半的浪漫主义情怀，他们的歌曲充满了隐喻和发人深省的反语，有深度，但不让人觉得廉价或不值一提，其态度真实而深刻。这种戏剧性在今晚展现得淋漓尽致——乐队表演了一个半小时还要多，可称是一场盛大的演出（我相信这也是为未来的唱片录制的现场）

One could say Beijing art punks Wasted Laika broke out earlier last year with their long-anticipated debut but that would be a bold-faced lie - the fact of the matter is the band has been hard at work for well over five years - honing their sound, touring the country, and steadily building a fanbase. I remember when I booked them for a show in late 2017 the spark was already there - “While Wasted Laika coasted on adolescent charm and rock and roll swagger, it’s clear they are still locking down their sprawling sound that seems to touch upon everything from art rock to punk bravado”.

It’s amazing how much the band has grown since then. With an emotional through-line that strikes a mood that's raw, stripped back, with a touch of bittersweet romanticism - there is a lyrical depth to their songs that never feels cheap or unearned and a melodic drive whose attitude rings true and cuts deep. 

That theatricality was at the forefront this evening - with the band playing for well over a hour and a half, delivering a mammoth set (it was also being recorded live for a future LP I believe). Right on.
