在这座城即将迈入假期之时，LiveChinaMusic最新举办的 "冬日来信 "终于在上周四堪堪抵达。欣赏各式乐队的演出是迎接周末的完美方式。幻痛区自去年以来已有极大的成长，呈现了一种复合——融合迷幻的后摇滚与吸纳电子的后朋克；同时，杭州的 "一枝花 "乐队给予了一场地狱般的首演——他们没有浪费一秒钟的时间，带着狂热的喜悦投入到他们粗犷、狂野的、躁动的表演中——那种气态如今已很少见了；推骨牌的人依然是上海最元祖，最大胆的乐队之一——在他们飞驰过迷幻、后朋克、数摇等的山谷时，仍能保持着某种精确。再次感谢所有的乐队；感谢育音堂；感谢那些寻找新声音的勇敢的灵魂。兔年见。
After COVID make its way through the lineup - our latest showcase Winter Post finally had its day last Thursday, just in under the wire as the city goes into holiday mode. And with an ever-unruly assortment of acts - it was the perfect way to kick off the (early) weekend.
Opening for the evening was Navel. I remember catching the band maybe a year or so back - and while it didn’t blow my mind - I knew there was something there that would have me coming back for more eventually.
With heavy elements of psych-tinged post rock there is a theatrical cadence to the band that gives many of their songs a sense of scale; of narrative thrust. And even without their guitar (turned into a backing track for the night) the band has grown considerably over the past year.
A tipsy volatile shotgun blast of punk, indie and art rock, Hangzhou’s One Flower did not waste a second jumping into their wiry, wildly, manic set with feverish glee. While some of it steers a bit too close to another certain band's sound, when the band cuts loose and dips into their more adolescent gaze - it truly is something.
Domino Trigger gets better and better with time. There’s nothing quite like it - a twisty and atmospheric art rock concoction that dabbles in everything from post punk to noise rock; from math rock to psych rock. It’s surgical in its precision - guiding listeners through valleys and jagged cliffs at whiplash speeds - keeping you guessing what’s behind each sharp turn.
And seriously, 'Weirweirdo 怪怪的' might be one of the wildest tracks I’ve seen live - had to pick up my jaw off the floor after this mammoth number. One of Shanghai’s most original and daring acts.
