Intern, Implementation Monitoring

To strengthen its portfolio management capacity, AIIB’s Implementation Monitoring Department (IMD) is looking for an intern with strong quantitative analytics skillsets. The internship requests on-site assignments. The number of days in a week could be discussed in a later stage of the selection process. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct a study on the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyze bond descriptions and quantitative data to predict probability of default.
• Utilize programming skillsets to replicate existing studies on municipal bonds and transfer this knowledge into the study of corporate credit bonds in EM Asia.
• Support Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) in developing or creating new reports required for the monitoring of bond assets.
• Connect and automate data from multiple sources (internal and external channels) to consolidate and analyze Fixed Income portfolio information.
• Maintain existing quantitative reports to evolve with updated operational environment.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctorate degree from an internationally recognized institution.
• Strong Microsoft Excel VBA skills for report automation.
• Strong skillset in Python for AI or machine learning capabilities.
• Basic knowledge of database, system development, and data management.
• Ability to synthesize various disciplines, e.g. data science, report design, database development, and programming.
• Experience in hands-on projects is preferred.
• User of Bloomberg Terminal would be preferred but not required.
• Knowledge in Finance and Economics, and efforts toward CFA designation are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
