【英音】「八卦」英文怎么说?

关你鬼事咩八公! This, is what people who speaks Cantonese say to each other almost everyday. Basically, it’s a colloquial way of telling someone he / she is 八卦 and ask them to mind their own business. Not surprisingly, 八卦 people are all over the world. So one day, you might have to say it in English. You are now prepared for that day. The word for 八卦 in English is: Nosy.


Another way of saying it is: Stop sticking your nose into other people’s business. This is how the word “nosy” got developed.

nosy (also: nosey) (adj.)

Definition: Always wanting to find out things that do not concern you, especially other people's private affairs.

好管闲事的、爱打听别人事情的、八卦的



Oi, don't be nosy! It's none of your business.

喂!不要那么八卦好吗?这不关你的事呀!



Be careful, don't tell him. He's a very nosy person.

你小心点噢!千万别告诉他,他可八卦了。

Definition: To become involved in something that does not concern you, in a way that annoys people.

So, if a certain English speaker is asking you whether you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, or what's your horoscope. Then you could tell him, "Oi, don't be nosy! It's none of your business." If you simply want to say "he is a very 八卦 person," then you could say, "Be careful, don't tell him. He's a very nosy person."
