2017年10月14日下午3点，81岁的老摄影家贾育平先生的大型个展《芳华年代——那些挂历上的姑娘》将在北京798艺术区映艺术中心/映画廊开幕。
贾育平，北京人，1936年出生。他本是清华科班毕业的高级建筑工程师，无意中玩相机却玩出了名堂，曾作为特约记者受聘于《知音》《家庭》等多家杂志。从三十多年前贾育平拍摄第一本“美女挂历”起，坊间开始流传这么一句话：“美女要想出名就去找贾育平。”自此，贾育平拍了无数美女挂历、杂志封面，也成了名副其实的“摄影师里最先富起来的人”——但这些钱基本都被贾育平用来买摄影器材了。在那个没有互联网，时尚媒体、娱乐性电视节目还不发达的年代里，杂志封面和挂历就是最可靠的时尚风向标，而这些美女照片很多都是贾育平拍的。他拍的姑娘美得很真、很自信、很健康；在将近20年里，这些挂历上的“美女”都在影响着中国大众的视觉审美与想象。也因此，贾育平被称为“封面大王”、“挂历大王”、“中国时尚摄影第一人”等，他的作品被认为反映了曾经的一个时代的审美特征，那是一个浪漫主义的、没有经过整容、没有美图秀秀的时代。
本展览将展出贾育平在上世纪八九十年代拍摄的部分著名挂历照片，原版挂历，以及照片底片、原版杂志、拍摄器材及拍摄道具等。
展览将持续至11月14日。
The opening of 81-year-old photographer Jia Yuping's solo exhibition "In The Prime of Youth: The Girls on the Wall Calendars" will be held at 15:00 on 14th October, 2017 at Inter Art Center & Gallery in 798 Art District, Beijing.
Jia Yuping was born in 1936 and raised in Beijing. Though Jia, with a background in architecture at Tsinghua University, worked as a senior construction engineer, he became well-known taking photos for magazines like the Bosom Friend (Zhiyin) and the Family. After taking the photos for his first “wall calendar with pretty girls” thirty odd years ago, Jia had acquired a reputation, that “Jia Yuping is the man who can turn every pretty girl into a star”. Ever since, Jia had photographed for numerous wall calendars and magazine covers, and he also became one of “the first photographers who got rich”—most of the money has been spent on cameras and lenses. It was an era without the Internet, developed fashion media and entertaining TV programmes, and in those days, photos of pretty girls on magazine covers and wall calendars provided the most dependable guidance on fashion—and many of these photos were taken by Jia. In Jia’s photographs, the girls are all beautiful in a genuine, confident and healthy way; these “pretty girls” had had influence on Chinese people’s visual aesthetics and imaginations for almost two decades. Therefore, Jia Yuping has been hailed as “the king of mag covers”, “the king of wall calendars” and “the first man in the history of China’s fashion photography”. His works are reckoned to have reflected an era’s aesthetic values—an era without cosmetic surgeries or Photoshop abuses, but of romanticism.
Famous wall calendar photos taken in the 1980s and 1990s by Jia Yuping, original wall calendars, negatives, original editions of magazines, photography equipment and props will be presented in this show.
The exhibition will last till 14th November.
