这一次李冬的探索之旅行至湖北，
把传承两千多年的鄂菜带回北京。
Home to seemingly endless flavours, China and its vast land offers Chef Li Dong a steady stream of
creative inspiration.
For this discovery trip, Chef Li travelled to Hubei.
Known as the province of a thousand lakes and
the land of fish and rice, Hubei's culinary traditions have been passed down to Beijing over the past
2,000 years.
湖北地处长江中游，有着得天独厚的地理位置。
湖北菜海纳了北方菜的粗犷、南方菜的生猛、
西部菜的麻辣和东部菜的淡雅。
Located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze
River, the region occupies a unique
geographical location where China's rustic
Northern cuisine, robust Southern cuisine, spicy Western cuisine and light Eastern cuisine all meet.
武汉
这次的美食之旅来到武汉。
作为九省通衢之地，大大小小的码头云集，
市井文化浓郁，人间烟火气漫布大街小巷，
一早一晚即”过早“和宵夜成为武汉美食的缩影。
Wuhan was known as the "gateway to the nine provinces", the city boasts a rich culinary culture with bustling streets.
Wuhan's breakfast tradition of "guozao" offers a nearly infinite amount of choice for the first meal
of the day and midnight snacking is typical for
locals in this lively, food-driven city.
荆州
“禹划九州，始有荆州”
一座古老文化与现代文明交相辉映的滨江城市，
江河纵横、物产富饶，
以烹制各种淡水鱼类见著，味道尤其鲜美。
Jingzhou, a riverside city where ancient culture and modern civilisation intersect and one that left a deep mark on the 5,000-year history of Jingchu culture. Rivers weave across the expansive, fertile Jianghan Plain, where freshwater fish is the speciality.
