Tsinghua hosts dialogue on China-LAC investment, development
Ambassadors from Latin American and Caribbean countries, or LAC countries convened at Tsinghua University, Beijing on Tuesday to learn about China's investments and the development of the LAC region.
LAC countries have become the second largest destination for China's outbound investment, with more free trade deals coming into force. In the first four months this year, two-way trade increased by another 8%.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Forum of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, or China-CELAC Forum. Through which leaders of China and more than 20 LAC countries have championed the joint implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
During his visit to LAC countries in 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping also put forward the vision of taking China-LAC relations into a new era featuring equality, mutual benefit, innovation, openness and benefits for the people. And Xi's scheduled visit to the region this year is widely anticipated.
