Position: Intern

Profile

• You must have already completed a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and be completing at least a Master's degree essentially in Education major at the time of application;

• Fluency (oral and written) in English and Chinese;

• Education or any other major in the social science fields;

• Good communication skills, including writing skills;

• Strong strategic and analytical skills;

• Good computer and IT skills and experience in using office software packages;

• An awareness of the many facets of a multicultural world and a commitment to international public service are essential;

• The duration of an internship must be between four and six months, full-time preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting and translating documents in connection with education policies and laws, government reports, research papers and media reports;

• Assist in translation and proof-reading project documents and reports as well as coordination and implementation of projects and activities;

• Assist in coordinating the organization of seminars, workshops and events;

• Assistance in administrative tasks;

• Any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Important

• The aim of the internship is to give you professional experience in an international organization which relates to and supplements your studies;

• An internship affords you the opportunity to work in a multicultural, intergovernmental organization;

• UNESCO Beijing Cluster Office covers transportation allowance of interns. Costs and arrangements for additional travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions;

• As the internship programme is not connected with the recruitment process, the granting of an internship should not be interpreted in any way as a preliminary step towards employment at the Secretariat.
