Most people have blind psychological activities. They have not seen the original appearance of life, and are completely controlled by the environment they live in as well as the understandings and emotions that environment shapes. The choices they make are always decided by mistaken understandings and harmful needs. Only after having a deep understanding of life can one know where the value of human life lies, and what to choose and reject.

If the perplexities of understanding and the afflictions of the mind have not been resolved, then no form of life can possibly be truly free. Many people pursue freedom in their societal environment, freedom in their material conditions, and think that freedom means acting on one’s own will. In truth, the more we possess, the more constraints we are subject to. In most cases, while we are pursuing freedom, we also manufacture constraints.

生命存在永恒的困惑，如果找不到答案，就不能看清人生真相。唯有摆脱这些困惑，才能成就智慧，获得认识的自在。另一方面，这些困惑又会制造烦恼，让生命不得安宁。这就需要通过戒定慧的修行，断除烦恼，获得心灵的自在。
Eternal perplexities exist in life. If one cannot find an answer, then he or she will not see the truth of life. Only by eliminating these perplexities is one able to consummate wisdom and acquire unhindered understanding. Otherwise, these perplexities will continue manufacturing afflictions, depriving life of tranquility. In order to eliminate a_ ictions and obtain an unhindered spirit, one must cultivate by observing precepts, practicing meditation and manifesting wisdom.

每个人都没有必要为难自己，把自己改变成另一种类型的人，这也不可能。你只需要把自己的类型做到最好，并且对其他类型的人能够理解或宽容就可以了。
I don’t think it is necessary for people to go against his own disposition, and turn themselves into a different type. This is actually impossible. You only need to try your best to be yourself, and be able to understand or tolerate people of other types.
