Brawl on the Wall: Zhang vs Jin
Beijing's favorite black-tie boxing event, Brawl on The Wall, is back for yet another bout of fighting at the Park Hyatt Beijing on April 29.
The 2017 Brawl on the Wall is shaping up to be yet another smash hit. Over 500 people are expected to attend the black-tie boxing extravaganza and look on as nine pairs of 'white collar' boxers go head to head. All fighters have undergone intensive training over the past three months. And they'll be ready to show what they've got on April 29.
Leading up to the big night we will be posting interviews with the boxers. From the fourth bout, Zhang Shuai and Jin "The Last Fighter" Heng Kun took the time to answer some questions:
Zhang Shuai
Nationality: Chinese
Age: 31
Weight: 65kg
Favorite quote: "No pain, no gain."
What made you decide to fight? Love
Job title: Finance.
If you could fight anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? None.
What's been the most difficult challenge for you since you started training? Having no proper training partner.
What positive changes have you seen in yourself since you started training? I felt full of positive energy, and I'm rarely afraid of troubles.
Describe a memorable experience from your training. First time preparing to train for the match.
Favorite boxer? Ma Kuizi
Favorite fight ever? An amateur match I participated in on December 31, 2017. I thought I was going to lose, but it turned out that all the referees agreed I won.
Advice for people who are thinking of participating in next year's Brawl on the Wall. As long as you are brave enough to step up to the ring, you are the best.
