Over the past two days, Beijing received an average 56mm of precipitation. However, some areas received as much as 144.5mm of rain.

Beijing has now received an average of 476.2 mm since June – that’s compared to an average 353.5 mm (from 1980 to 2010).
Earlier this month the rains got so bad that over 500 flights were cancelled, hundreds of scenic spots and tourist attractions were closed and thousands were evacuated.
The good news is that the weather looks clear for the next few days. And at least we’re not in Guangdong province, which is currently being smacked by Typhoon Hato.
