Orange Alert: Expect Heavy Smog in Beijing Until Wednesday
By Justine Lopez
Here we go again. Beijing was issued an orange alert for smog on Saturday night. The most recent bout of heavy pollution is expected to linger over Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei from Monday until Wednesday, Xinhua reports.
Conditions should start to improve on Wednesday with the arrival of a cold front.
An orange alert is the second-highest warning in China's four-tier system. Orange alerts are issued when the AQI is expected to exceed 200 for three consecutive days, with one of those days surpassing 300.
Time to bust out those masks.
