Fuxing Bullet Trains Set to Service Entire Beijing-Tianjin Line

The China Railway Corporation has announced that all high-speed trains on the Beijing-Tianjin line will be converted to Fuxing trains, as reported by ECNS. The change is expected to provide a much-improved service along the line, which became China’s first high-speed rail service in August 2008.

The Fuxing trains will represent a substantial upgrade on the previous Hexie or Harmony models used on the line and will be more spacious, reliable and energy-efficient than their predecessors, as well as having a longer service life. This news came with the announcement that all Fuxing bullet trains running on the Beijing-Tianjin line will run at an increased speed of 350kph, starting from August 1.

Passengers will now also be able to use an app to order freshly ground coffee before boarding their train and have been encouraged to make suggestions on how to further improve service.

This month marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Beijing-Tianjin line. To celebrate, train attendants will be wearing special uniforms from different time periods to show all of the changes made throughout the decade.

In addition to serving the Beijing Olympic Games, the line has been credited with promoting the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and has carried an estimated 250 million passengers since opening.
