广以-蔡司合作应用实验室揭牌仪式
5月31日,广东以色列理工学院举办“广以-蔡司合作应用实验室揭牌仪式暨电镜应用研讨会”。出席现场仪式的领导和嘉宾有:广东以色列理工学院校长龚新高、广东以色列理工学院电镜中心主任茶丽梅、卡尔蔡司管理有限公司材料科研华南销售经理陈哲、卡尔蔡司管理有限公司华南应用经理陈双文、牛津仪器科技有限公司南方区技术销售工程师刘宇,以及来自蔡司和牛津的应用专家、广东以色列理工学院、汕头大学的师生代表。广东以色列理工学院研究生院院长、材料科学与工程系主任Moshe Eizenberg教授和卡尔蔡司管理有限公司材料科研全国销售总监黄铭刚线上参加本次仪式。
广以电镜中心是一个跨领域、跨学科,集分析测试服务、基础研究和应用研究为一体的综合性开放平台,也是目前粤东高校最高端的电镜分析平台之一。广以电镜中心主任茶丽梅博士介绍,电镜中心配备了多台先进的电子显微镜及制样设备,为材料的优化和进一步应用提供科学依据,涵盖领域包括材料科学、凝聚态物理、能源、化工、环境、生物、食品、医药等,致力于为校内外学术机构和行业的研究人员提供测试分析服务及搭建科研合作平台。自2021年对外以来,已测试超过2000份样本。目前,已有来自全国5省7市的39个研究团队共享广以电镜中心的仪器。
广东以色列理工学院研究生院院长、材料科学与工程系主任Moshe Eizenberg在线上发表致辞。他表示,电镜中心为广以师生、乃至学界和业界的科研提供了十分精密的仪器设备和技术手段,希望广以-蔡司合作应用实验室的成立能促进各方在不同领域开展更多高层次、高质量的合作。
卡尔蔡司管理有限公司材料科研全国销售总监黄铭刚在致辞中表示,蔡司作为一家在光学和电子领域深耕多年的专业公司,非常希望能与国内知名的高校院所开展更多的合作。“我们与广以电镜中心共建合作实验室,表达了双方互惠共享、共同发展的决心,更预示着广以和蔡司合作的深度发展。我们将致力于助力广以科研能力的提升,为学校师生的科研工作提供更好的服务。”
在揭牌仪式上,广东以色列理工学院校长龚新高代表学校对广以-蔡司合作应用实验室的成立表示热烈祝贺。他说,广以致力于建设成为一所高水平、国际化的理工科研究型大学,学校开设的许多专业都离不开微观分析的技术和手段。此次双方的合作将有效地推动汕头、粤东地区乃至全国相关科技领域的进一步发展。他衷心祝愿实验室能越办越好,在仪器使用、人才培养、学科建设等方面取得更多硕果和成效。
在“广以-蔡司电镜应用研讨会”上,蔡司应用专家张青发表了题为“蔡司扫描电镜基础原理和应用”的主题分享,从扫描电镜的基本原理与概念、探测器成像的原理与应用、样品制备方法、测试参数选择等方面进行详细介绍。
蔡司应用专家郑义明介绍了广以电镜中心配置的ZEISS高分辨场发射扫描电镜Gemini450的技术特点,分享了低电压高分辨成像、不导电样品的高分辨能谱分析、金属晶粒取向衬度及ECCI缺陷表征,以及电镜的原位分析功能等一系列蔡司跨尺度显微成像技术的最新应用。
牛津仪器应用专家王汉霄博士介绍了广以电镜中心配置的大面积能谱探测器和CMOS-EBSD探测器在纳米表征中的应用案例,以及无窗能谱系统、EDS-WDS联用系统在元素分析方面带来的全新解决方案。
未来,广以-蔡司合作应用实验室将秉承“互利合作、对外开放”的理念,进一步实现信息互通、技术共享,共同解决问题,开拓新的领域,探索更多可能。
Opening Ceremony & Workshop
The "GTIIT-ZEISS Electron Microscope Cooperative Application Laboratory Opening Ceremony & SEM Workshop" was held in Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) on May 31. Prof. Gong Xingao, Chancellor of GTIIT; Senior Research Scientist Cha Limei, Director of the Electron Microscopy Center of Materials Science and Engineering; Chen Zhe, Sales Manager of Materials Research of Carl Zeiss Co.,Ltd. in South China; Chen Shuangwen, Application Manager of Carl Zeiss Co.,Ltd. in South China; Liu Yu, Technical Sales Engineer of Oxford Instruments Technology Co.,Ltd. in South China; as well as application experts from both Zeiss and Oxford, representatives of teachers and students from GTIIT and Shantou University, attended the ceremony. Prof. Moshe Eizenberg, Dean of Graduate Studies, Head of Materials Science and Engineering Program of GTIIT, and Huang Minggang, National Sales Director for Materials Research at Carl Zeiss Co., Ltd., participated online.
The Electron Microscopy Center (EMC) is a forefront center with state-of-the-art instrumentations, enabling a wide variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary research projects, covering topics from basic research to applied research. It is one of the most advanced electron microscopy analysis platforms among the universities in eastern Guangdong. According to Dr. Cha, Director of EMC, the Center is well-equipped with advanced electron microscopes as well as an instrumentation for sample preparation in a cutting-edge technical environment, providing great supports on the scientific basis for the optimization and further application of materials to a wide range of the research projects, including material science, condensed matter physics, energy, chemical, environment, biology, food, medicine and so on. Since its open in 2021, over 2,000 samples have been tested. At present, there are 39 research teams from 7 cities of 5 provinces across China sharing the instruments of EMC.
Prof. Moshe Eizenberg, Dean of Graduate Studies and Head of Materials Science and Engineering Program of GTIIT, delivered a speech online. He said that the EMC has provided sophisticated instruments and technology to GTIIT teachers and students, and also to researchers in academia and industry. He hoped that the GTIIT-ZEISS workshop could promote more high-level and high-quality cooperation in various fields.
Huang Minggang, National Sales Director of Materials Research of Carl Zeiss Co., Ltd., said that as a professional company in optics and electronics, Zeiss has been looking forward to more cooperation with well-known universities and institutes in China. “The joint establishment of the laboratory with EMC shows the determination of mutual benefit and common development, and also indicates the in-depth development of the collaboration between GTIIT and Zeiss. We are committed to helping GTIIT improve its research capacity and provide better services for research.”
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Gong Xingao, Chancellor of GTIIT, expressed warm congratulations on the establishment of the Laboratory on behalf of the university. He said that GTIIT has been committed to be a high-level and international research university of science and technology. Many programs at GTIIT are inseparable from micro analysis. The cooperation will effectively promote the development of Shantou, eastern Guangdong and even the related fields in China. He sincerely wished the laboratory better and better, and made more achievements in the use of instruments, talent training and discipline construction.
In the SEM Workshop, Zhang Qing, Application Specialist of Zeiss, introduced basic principles and concepts of scanning electron microscopy, principles and applications of detector imaging, sample preparation methods and test parameters selection.
Zheng Yiming, Application Specialist of Zeiss, descibed the technical characteristics of the Zeiss high resolution field emission scanning electron microscope Gemini450. He shared the low voltage high resolution imaging, high resolution spectrum analysis of non-conductive samples, metal grain orientation contrast and ECCI defect characterization, as well as the in-situ analysis function of electron microscopy and a series of Zeiss cross-scale microscopic imaging technology's latest applications.
Wang Hanxiao, Application Specialist of Oxford, discussed the application cases of large-area energy spectrum detectors and CMOS-EBSD detector in nano characterization, as well as the new solutions of windowless energy spectrum system and EDS-WDS combined system in element analysis.
In the future, the Laboratory will adhere to the idea of "mutually beneficial cooperation and opening to the outside world", promote information and technology sharing and explore more possibilities.
