CPPCC Jinan Committee begins annual session
The fourth session of the 14th Jinan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the second session of the 17th Jinan Municipal People's Congress were respectively held in the city on May 11 and 12.
政协第十四届济南市委员会第四次会议与济南市第十七届人民代表大会第二次会议分别于5月11日和12日召开。
During the two sessions, officials from the local government reviewed the work carried out during 2019 and discussed major political, economic and social issues to focus on, taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A travel diary recording the story of a non-local man's life in Jinan was chosen as the top recommended post on popular Chinese travel website Mafengwo on May 12. The diary is likely to have encouraged interest in the city, with the platform boasting around 130 million users.

Inspur's innovative products featured at 2020 OCP
Jinan-based IT firm Inspur took part in the 2020 Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit on May 12, which is being held as an interactive virtual summit this year. The firm brought its two cutting-edge products to the event, namely the Inspur NF8260M5 and the world's first OAI open standard AI computing system, the MX1.
5月12日，济南的大型IT企业浪潮携2个“全球首款”级产品——浪潮NF8260M5和全球首款OAI开放标准的AI计算系统MX1亮相2020OCP全球峰会。
The Inspur NF8260M5 is the first SAP HANA certified server product in the OCP community. It supports four advanced Intel processors, integrating 48 DDR4 memory slots, giving it the highest computing density in the industry.

Jinan opens its first Lithuanian-style garden
A Lithuanian-style garden was recently completed and put into operation thanks to cooperation between teams from Jinan and its friendly cooperative city, Birstonas. The garden allows residents of the city to experience Birstonas's unique culture.
济南及其友城比斯托纳斯合作打造的立陶宛比斯托纳斯花园近日建成开放了。济南市民可以来这花园体验比斯托纳斯的独特文化。
The new garden features a traditional Lithuanian house and is decorated with a variety of unique plants, highlighting the appearance of urban Birstonas.
该花园以传统立陶宛建筑风格为特色，点缀有各种各样植物，展示比斯托纳斯的城镇风貌。
