解放阁的前世今生
Jiefang Pavilion is one of the landmark buildings of Jinan. It is situated at the southeast corner of the ancient city wall and faces Black Tiger Spring across the city moat.
解放阁是“泉城”济南的标志性建筑之一，位于原济南旧城城墙东南角，黑虎泉东侧，隔护城河与黑虎泉相望。
Founded in 1986, the pavilion was erected to honor the revolutionary martyrs who died during the Jinan Campaign in 1948.
解放阁是解放战争济南战役期间，中国人民解放军于1948年攻克济南时的攻城突破口处。济南人民特意在此建阁，以纪念济南解放，1986年落成。
解放阁 | Jiefang Pavilion
It is a two-story pavilion with a height of 30 meters and an area of 620 square meters.
解放阁通高30米，面积620平方米，为二层楼阁式建筑。
The first floor is a memorial hall that has red interiors and a floor made from crimson granite. A sculpture featuring heroic figures is located in the center.
解放阁首层为纪念大厅，大厅彩色以红色为基调，以深红色花岗石做地面。大厅正中以青花大理石为贴面建一浑厚底座，上立3米高的解放军攻城战士群雕英姿，突出了大厅庄严肃穆的气氛。
The second floor, which features yellow interiors, is meant for sightseeing. Visitors can enjoy the landscape of Jinan here.
二层为观瞻厅，以淡黄色为基调，地面为黄色大理石，四周石墙齐腰，上部为具有民族风格的灯笼窗，镶大面积玻璃，游客可观赏泉城的秀丽景色。
济南战役成为人民解放军攻克敌人重点设防的大城市的开始，揭开了解放战争战略决战的序幕。
解放阁如今也已经成为济南家喻户晓的历史文化符号，更是山东省重要的爱国主义教育基地（an important spot for revolutionary education in Shandong）。
