Dongbei Xiaocui

东北菜在中国的饮食文化中有着非常鲜明的特色，这与东北地区独有的风土人情有着密不可分的关系，今天这家东北菜馆也非常地独特。

The owner and chef of Dongbei Xiaocui are from Northeast China's Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. The biggest feature of this shop should be to maximize the home-made flavor in Northeast China. Even simple dishes can best display the worldly sense of average families in the region.

东北菜的烹饪技巧大部分都承袭自鲁菜，多数是由早期迁徙至东北的山东人结合东北的特色食材融合创新逐渐演变发展而来，从很多菜品中都能看到鲁菜的影子。

Most of the cooking skills of the Dongbei cuisine are inherited from Shandong Cuisine. Most of them are gradually evolved and developed by the early Shandong people who migrated to Northeast China, through the integration and innovation of characteristic local ingredients in Northeast China. Many dishes can be seen the original elements of Shandong Cuisine.

锅包肉就是典型代表之一，做法与鲁菜的糖醋里脊相近，却又融合了东北的粗犷豪放的性格，如今已经成为东北文化的代表之一。

Guobaorou – Double Cooked Pork Slices – is one of the typical representatives. It is similar to the sweet and sour tenderloin of Shandong Cuisine, but it also integrates the rough and unrestrained character of people in Northeast China. Now it has become one of the representatives of local culture.

烧茄子也是如此，很大程度上保留了山东人对葱和蒜的喜爱，配上东北的大酱，别具一番风味。

The same is true for braised eggplant with brown sauce, which retains Shandong people's love for scallions and garlics. With the soybean paste made in Northeast China, it has a unique flavor.

杀猪菜是东北菜的精华之一，特别是东北特产的酸菜，与五花肉炖在一起，微酸而鲜香，肥美而不腻。

Shazhucai is also very typical. The marbled pork is stewed with locally produced sauerkraut, fatty but not greasy.

饭包可谓是体现了东北农家的风貌，一道菜中包含了鸡蛋、土豆泥、肉馅、酱料、米饭和新鲜蔬菜，简约而不简单，据说是早期东北农民发明的，由于农忙时期顾不上做饭，所以发明了这种既能方便吃又能快速填饱肚子，并且营养全面的美食。

Fanbao is hailed as the symbol of the authentic style of the northeastern farmers. The dish includes eggs, mashed potatoes, meat stuffing, sauce, rice and fresh vegetables. It is said that the simple-styled dish was invented by northeastern farmers in a very early stage. Because they were too busy to cook during the busy farming season, they invented this kind of dish featuring convenience, quick satiety and comprehensive nutrition.

各色烧烤也是充满了东北的特色。

All kinds of barbecue in the restaurant are also full of the characteristics of Northeast China.
