前言


澳大利亚和中国的关系经历了曲折的一年,但旅游业则是双边关系中的一个亮点,而澳大利亚的国家航空公司Qantas便是两国旅游业合作的一个标志。Qantas对中国的服务大大增加了,增加了很多中国的新航线,而且和中国东方航空实行了一些联营班次


联盟政府对经济管理的重视意味着将对旅游业和航空部门提供更多支持,比如在《2017-18财年中期经济和财政展望》(MYEFO)中给澳大利亚偏远地区拨款1130万澳元重修Qantas澳洲航空创始人博物馆创始人博物馆。


副总理和国家党党魁Barnaby Joyce表示,联盟政府此次拨款将用于纪念澳大利亚的第一个也是最经久不衰的一家航空公司,此举将支持偏远地区旅游业的发展。



Qantas博物馆 


Qantas澳洲航空创始人博物馆创始人博物馆于1996年开放,里面展示了澳大利亚最早的航空公司——昆士兰和北领地航空服务公司(Qantas)——从1920年刚开始做邮政服务时到现在的历史。


本次拨款重修Qantas博物馆将有利于更好地保存Qantas的历史,保护里面的旧飞机和工艺品不受到澳大利亚恶劣气候的侵害,让当代和未来的澳大利亚人都能够欣赏和学习其辉煌和荣耀的历史。



副总理Joyce表示,联盟政府致力于为偏远地区群体提供资金,保证其生命力。


Joyce表示,我们在偏远地区实行了一系列的项目,包括“偏远地区建设基金”(Building Better Regions Fund),我们通过这些投资为当地居民创造了很多工作机会。

 『原文』Airlines in the Year of Tourism

Australia and China had a rock year but Tourism has been a bright spot. For Australia, the national airline Qantas is an icon in that regard. Qantas has increased its services to China considerably with new flights and codeshares with airlines such as China Eastern.


The Coalition Government’s strong economic management has meant more support for the tourism and airline sector, this includes to deliver for regional Australia following the allocation of $11.3 million to the Qantas Founders Museum in the 2017-18 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO).


Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of The Nationals, Barnaby Joyce, said the Coalition Government’s additional funding would support the region’s tourism industry, which celebrates Australia’s first and most enduring aviation company.


Qantas Museum

The Qantas Founders Museum opened in 1996 and tells the story of the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service (Qantas), Australia’s foundation airline company, from its inception as a mail carrier in 1920.


This funding will help preserve the Qantas story making sure these historical aircraft and artefacts are protected from the harsh Australian climate for current and future generations of Australians to enjoy and learn about its strong and proud history.


Deputy Prime Minister Joyce said the Coalition Government was committed to investing in regional communities to ensure they remain viable.


We’re delivering a range of projects across the region, including through the Building Better Regions Fund, and it’s this investment that’s creating jobs for residents, Joyce said.


This long-awaited upgrade is being delivered in conjunction with the Museum’s proposed new venture, Luminescent Longreach, a light and sound show that will utilise the floor, walls and aircraft in the new structure to tell how the past has created the future. It will be interesting to see how popular the destination will become for tourists from China.

 

The Locals

Federal Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said Luminscent Longreach would operate all year-round providing a major addition to Central Queensland’s tourism attractions.


The large scale of this unique show and authentic experience is estimated to more than double the current number of visitors to Central Queensland, Mr. Littleproud said.


Once complete, we anticipate the museum and show will attract strong interest from international tourists to provide the local economy with a welcome boost estimated to be worth more than $25 million, and to generate 64 new jobs.


China-Australia year of Tourism

Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the Hon. Keith Pitt MP represented the Australian Government at the official closing ceremony of the China-Australia year of Tourism 2017 in China. 


The event featured traditional Chinese dances and Australian Indigenous dances as well as Tourism Australia’s beautiful aquatic and coastal television commercial. The event was attended by senior officials from the China National Tourism Administration as well as key airline partners such as Qantas and tourism distribution partners.


The China-Australia Year of Tourism 2017 has been a huge success by any standard, particularly when you look at the growth in tourism numbers and spend we continue to see from China into Australia.


The latest figures from the International Visitor Survey reveal that Chinese visitors value is now at $10.3 billion for the year ending September 2017, an increase of 13 percent year on year.


Minister Pitt will also attend meetings with China Southern Airlines, one of the largest airlines in China. The meeting follows a recent expansion of its Australian network including the launch of its inaugural Guangzhou to Cairns air service.

 

20 years China Southern in Australia

This year marks 20 years since China Southern Airlines began operating in Australia. Aviation connectivity into Australia from a wide range of airlines is vital to our continued tourism success.


Chinese travelers can now fly to Australia from 17 cities with ten airlines operating around 150 direct flights per week to six Australian airports.

 

With the tourism industry employing around 1 in 12 Australians and approximately 43 cents in every tourism dollar being spent in regional Australia, this growth in international visitation translates directly into jobs and opportunities for more and more Australians, particularly in regional areas.


The Chinese tourism market has the potential to be worth more than $13 billion to Australia by 2020, and I look forward to seeing the continued local benefits of this growth in 2018 and beyond.


More business?

There is also the Greater China Travel Mission, a Tourism Australia trade event which directly connects Australian tourism businesses with Chinese buyers through a schedule appointment program.

 

The event provides opportunities for Australian suppliers to learn more about travel trends in the Greater China region and enhances Chinese speaking markets’ knowledge of Australian products and experiences.
