现在来谈谈艺术家。与其说绘画,袁乐更像一个拿着超高倍显微镜突击游荡的试验者。面对城市这一庞大的“生命体”,他显得有些野心勃勃。客观来说,城市生活的摩登或温情不是他的目标。他的着力点,是遍布于霓虹灯下、阴暗不明的庞杂“电网”。又或说,是支撑这个“生命体”秩序运转的内生力。它们由各种技术交互所统摄、驱动,再以看似永不停歇、高速运转的形态建造着当下的城市景观。为展现这一思索,艺术家先以近乎“暴力”的笔触和线条于画布中创设一种视觉上的动态与速度感,再配合电子光晕般迷幻色彩,从局部到整体,呈现一个兼具工业气质与赛博感的动力空间。

Now to the artist. Instead of painting, Yuan Le is more like an experimenter who wanders around with an ultra-high magnification microscope. Faced with the huge "living body" of the city, he seems to be a bit ambitious. Objectively speaking, the modernity or warmth of city life is not his goal. His point of focus is the complicated "power grid" spread under the neon lights, which is dark and unknown. Or rather, the endogenous forces that support the orderly functioning of this "living body". They are unified and driven by various technological interactions, and then construct the current urban landscape in a seemingly never-ending, high-speed form. In order to show this thinking, the artist first uses almost "violent" brushstrokes and lines to create a sense of visual dynamics and speed on the canvas, and then combines them with the psychedelic colors like electronic halos to present, from the part to the whole, a dynamic space with both industrial temperament and cyber sense.

“我的作品在绘画中融入金属的质感、速度与力量感,并加入了电子时代的元素,同时表达了我对于当代生活中快速发展和快节奏的个人情感,这其中既包括本能的排斥与反抗,同时又掺杂着暗喜甚至是享受的复杂情感,在为技术进步所带来的变革所震撼的同时又怀念着工业时代的天真与暴力”。

在娱乐至死与技术狂欢的时代,媒介凌驾下人的异化与城市空间的异化并非显在困境。但是,袁乐却将这一主题的思索置于创作。在持续发掘与视觉反抗中,一种整体中的断裂、冲突和变化被艺术家捕捉。不止速度与激情,艺术家以画作箴言:在回旋疾飞的文明里,以省思、克制、谨慎予以观视。


My works incorporate the texture, speed and power of metal into my paintings, with elements of the electronic age, and express my personal feelings about the rapid development and fast pace of contemporary life, which includes both instinctive rejection and resistance, mixed with complex feelings of secret joy and even enjoyment, shocked by the changes brought about by technological advances and at the same time nostalgic for the naivety and violence of the industrial age.

Y:随性,纠结,较劲,舒服,自由。

C:最近有什么感兴趣的主题吗?

什么样的场景和素材会吸引到你。
Y:我希望自己不受主题的限制,希望自己能不断打破自己适应的创作方式,习惯的主题,我认为人活着一定要不断被新鲜事物所刺激才能保持好奇心,陌生的视觉体验能激发我创作的冲动,同时可以让我对个人曾经熟悉、怀念的场景有新的理解。


C:

你的创作过程一般是什么样的,

有什么特别的体验吗?

Y:我的创作过程是不确定,没有固定方式的,我喜欢先凭着直觉开始一副新的创作就像处在一个未知又期待的状态进入一段新的旅程,我喜欢在失控与可控的临界点徘徊寻找一个平衡点,在行进的过程中不断刷新自我的意识寻找一个我所谓的平衡。

C:你觉得十年后自己的生活状态会是什么样,会坚持做艺术吗?

Y:会啊,而且工作室和马力都应该再大一点。


C:

创作中,对于你而言最重要的是什么?

Y:对自己真诚。
