首届“大湄公河次区域民族学与人类学论坛”国际会议预备通知


尊敬的   女士/  先生:

大湄公河次区域(GMS)又称澜沧江-湄公河流域,是一个包括中国西南和缅甸、老挝、泰国、柬埔寨、越南等国家共同参与建设开发的地区。作为文化多样性最富集的地区之一,大湄公河次区域是当今世界民族学人类学研究的一方热土,本区域的民族、宗教、社会与环境带有明显的区域性特色。大湄公河次区域概念的提出,最初是以发展区域性经济而建构的,但随着经济发展项目的不断推进,以民族学人类学视角开展的历史、文化、社会、生态、政治等领域的研究成果也在不断积累。目前,大湄公河次区域的经济社会发展在东南亚地区显得越来越重要,也引起了世界的关注。为了进一步推动大湄公河次区域以及东南亚民族研究事业的繁荣发展,促进中国与东南亚民族研究的深入开展,由云南大学主办的首届“大湄公河次区域民族学与人类学论坛”国际会议拟于2019年11月8-11日在中国昆明市举行。现就会议相关事宜预通知如下:

一、会议时间

会议拟于2019年11月9-10日在云南大学举行。具体时间将在正式邀请函中另行告知。

二、会议地点

中国昆明市翠湖北路2号:云南大学东陆校区。

会议报到和住宿地点等信息,将在正式邀请函中另行告知。

三、会议主题

本次会议主题:“和睦相处与共享发展”

拟研讨的具体议题有:

1.大湄公河次区域的文化多样性及其传承保护;

2.“一带一路”建设与大湄公河次区域的互联互通、共享发展和文明互鉴;

3.大湄公河次区域的社会、宗教和民族问题;

4.大湄公河次区域的环境治理保护和多国合作治理;

5.大湄公河次区域的移民和华人华侨研究;

6.大湄公河次区域的族群、族际关系和国家政策;

7.其他相关议题。

、参会要求

1.与会代表可根据上述议题确定发言题目,提交参会论文。会议将本着以文参会的基本原则,邀请参会人员。会后承办方将挑选部分论文结集出版。

2.会议论文要求以word文档加脚注形式寄送。会议原则上只接受以中文、英文提交的论文。

3.拟参会的各位代表,请于2019年6月30日之前,将参会意向回执和论文题目、摘要发至会议专用信箱;请于7月底之前提交参会论文全文。会议组委会将根据提交论文情况,于2019年8月发出正式邀请函,代表与会请以正式邀请函为准。

五、会议费用

会议负责特邀嘉宾的一切费用。

其他参会人员往返交通费、住宿费自理,餐饮费和资料费由会议承办方负责。会议不收取会务费。

NOTICE OF THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “GREAT MEKONG SUB-REGION ETHNOLOGY AND ATHROPOLOGY”


Dear Sir or Madam:


The Great Mekong Sub-region (GMS), also known as the Lancang-Mekong River Basin, is a region where in many countries, including China (Yunnan Province), Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, are all involved in its construction and development. As one of the regions with the richest cultural diversity, the Great Mekong Sub-region is a hot spot for the study of ethnology and anthropology in today’s world, and the ethnic groups, religions, social circumstances and environments of this region have clear distinctive regional characteristics. The term GMS was originally proposed to promote regional economic integration, however, with the promotion of economic development projects, research achievements in the fields of history, culture, society, ecology and politics undertaken from ethnological or anthropological perspectives are also accumulating. The economic and social development of the Great Mekong Sub-region is more and more important in Southeast Asia and is now attracting attention from all over the world. In order to promote the prosperous development of ethnic studies in the Great Mekong Sub-region and Southeast Asia as well as the in-depth development of ethnic studies in China and Southeast Asia, the first international conference on “GREAT MEKONG SUB-REGION ETHNOLOGY AND ATHROPOLOGY,” sponsored by National Centre for Borderlands Ethnic Studies in Southwest China at Yunnan University (NaCBES), will be held in Kunming, China, from November 8 to Novemer 11, 2019. Conference details are as following:


1. Conference Date

The conference will be held in Yunnan University during from November 9 to November 11, 2019. The specific schedule will be detailed in the formal invitation letter.


2. Conference Location

Yunnan University, Donglu Campus, Kunming City, Yunnan PROVINCE, P.R. China.


We will provide registration and accommodation information when we send out the Invitation Letter.


3. Conference Topics

The topic of this conference: “Living Together in Peace and Shared Development.”

We will invite scholars to present on the following topics:

(1) Cultural diversity and its inheritance and protection in the Greater Mekong Sub-region;

(2) The construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and its implications for interconnectedness, shared development, and mutual learning in the Greater Mekong Sub-region;

(3)Social, religions, and ethnic issues in the Greater Mekong Sub-region;

(4) Environmental governance and protection as well as multinational cooperation in the Greater Mekong Sub-region;

(5)Research on immigrants and overseas Chinese in the Greater Mekong Sub-region;

(6) Ethnic groups, inter-ethnic relations, and national policies in the Greater Mekong Sub-region;

(7)Other related themes.


4. Conference Request

(1)Delegates to the conference may decide the topic of speech and submit the paper on the basis of the above topics. Delegates can participate in the conference on the basis of their submitted written paper. After the meeting, some papers will be selected for publication.

(2)Conference papers are required to be sent as word documents with footnotes. In principle, papers submitted in Chinese and English will only be accepted.

(3)Delegates wishing to participate in the conference are requested to send their acceptance receipts, title, and abstract of paper to the conference mailbox by June 30 2019, and submit the completed text by the end of July. The Organizing Committee of the Conference will issue an official invitation letter in August 2019, based on paper submissions. Delegates are invited to attend the meeting in accordance with the formal invitation letter.


5.  Conference Costs

The conference is responsible for all the expenses of special guests. Other participants need to pay their own transportation and accommodation fees. Dining and data expenses shall be in charge of the conference organizers. There is no conference attendance fee.


6. Academic Fieldwork (separate fee)

The site of fieldwork has yet to be selected.(At delegates’ own expense.)
