集美·阿尔勒国际摄影季 | 胸中丘壑 ——汪芜生山水摄影
“2017 集美 · 阿尔勒国际摄影季”将于 11 月 25日开幕,呈现共计30多个展览版块,覆盖摄影作为当代艺术一个重要组成部分的方方面面。“集美 · 阿尔勒国际摄影季”将陆续推出展览单元简介。

我们没到过黄山,而当我们第一次见到汪芜生的作品,就被他的影像所吸引住了…用摄影的手段来表达黄山的主题,实为不易,因为在人们的脑海中的印象,黄山多以传统山水画而闻名于世。
可是汪芜生一生以黄山为主题而创作,从1974年他笫一次登上黄山,就感受到强烈的心灵震撼!他自我描述当时的感受:“似乎远离了尘世,来到宇宙的中心。感到自己的胸怀从来没有那么宽广过,一切烦恼及痛苦倾刻间化为乌有,一连五、六个小时地佇立在山上,忘却一切,瞑暝之中有一种声音,这儿就是我的艺术源泉”。
1984初他离开他眷念的故乡、只身前往日本求学,可他默默的告诉自己,暂时的离开,是为了有一天连同带着他心中更加浓烈爱,再次登上他心中的圣地,他要为她尽情献歌歌唱!
今天我们仔细端详他所拍摄黄山的一系列作品,那石、那云、那雾、那松 ⋯迷离莫测,虚实相间,他通过他精湛的暗房技术,把他的“胸中丘壑”揉进在感光材料的画面中…画面中有些大胆累积成“黑”,而有些画面却超乎寻常的"白"。汪芜生时空转换地继承了中国几千年传统山水画的精髓,而却用现代手法来表现。相机、镜头、快门、和他的身体力行于这七十二峰 的“天界”,达到了“天人合一”之境界。
据说远古时代的最高统治者黄帝就到此寻找长生不老之仙药。而今天汪芜生四十年如一载多少次登上黄山,不是寻找“灵丹妙药”,而是为我们留下多少可以细细品味的艺术珍品!
有人说过“去黄山要用自己的眼睛来观看”,同样、观赏汪芜生的作品,也需要你们自己的眼睛。

关于艺术家:
汪芜生,1945年出生于中国安徽省芜湖市,毕业于安徽师范大学物理系。现在以上海和东京为基地活跃在世界艺坛上。大量的作品被德国柏林Friedrich Christian Flick Collection和维也纳国立艺术史博物馆等世界各国的美术馆及个人收藏家所收藏。作品「黄山幻幽W01(梦中芙蓉)」成了北京中国美术馆所收藏的第一幅摄影艺术作品。
关于策展人:
中国摄影艺术家荣荣与日本摄影艺术家映里自2000年开始合作。 他们的摄影作品在展现两人共同创造的独特、感性世界外,也表达了对传统手工照片和暗房技术进行持续探索及拓展的坚持。荣荣&映里备受关注的作品,如《富士山》、《自然》、《六里屯》和《妻有物语》等,将人与生存环境、人与自然的关系是作为主题,也是对从死亡和废墟到重生和超越的视觉叙事的充满诗意的沉思。
2007年,荣荣&映里在北京草场地国际艺术区创办了三影堂摄影艺术中心,这是中国第一个由艺术家自资创立的摄影艺术中心,同时也是一个开放互动的国际性交流平台。 2008年起,荣荣&映里启动了“三影堂摄影奖(TSPA)”活动,旨在鼓励并挖掘中国最具潜力的摄影艺术家。2015年,荣荣&映里创办的三影堂摄影艺术中心与法国阿尔勒摄影节合作主办了集美·阿尔勒国际摄影季。2016年,荣荣&映里获得索尼世界摄影奖“摄影杰出贡献奖”,他们为亚洲乃至世界摄影界带来的贡献获得了世界摄影组织的高度认可。

I’ve never been to Huangshan, but the first time I saw Wang Wusheng’s work, I was drawn in by his imagery – his skill of portraying Huangshan in photographs. It is not easy to use photography to express a place made famous by its association with traditional landscape painting.
Huangshan has stood at the centre of Wang Wusheng’s life work. The first time he climbed the mountain in 1974, he felt a strong connection. He described the feeling as: “Far from earth, yet at the heart of the universe. My mind had never been so wide open before. For 5 or 6 hours I stayed on the mountain, forgetting all my troubles. In the silence, there was a kind of sound. That is the source of my inspiration.”
At the beginning of 1984 he left his hometown to study in Japan. But he told himself this move was just temporary, and that he would return with an even deeper admiration. He promised himself that when he next climbed his holy mountain, it would be with songs on his lips.
Today, we see his series of photographs of Huangshan: that stone, that cloud, that fog, that pine. Blurring the real, his superb darkroom skills turn his refuge of the mind material, …some boldly “black”, some extraordinarily “white”. Wang Wusheng’s space-time shift is a true inheritor of the essence of traditional Chinese landscape painting that is thousands of years old, expressed by modern means. Camera, lens, shutter, his body’s effort, climbing the seventy-two peaks to reach the edge of “heaven on earth.”
It is said that in ancient times, the Yellow Emperor sought longevity herbs on the mountain. But today, 40 year old Wang Wusheng climbs Huangshan, not to find herbs to extend his life, but to leave us with a wealth of art treasures! People say that when you go to Huangshan, you should use your own eyes to see it. Likewise, with Wang Wusheng’s work, you should use your own eyes to see it.
About the artist:
Wang Wusheng was born in 1945 in the city of Wuhu in China’s Anhui Province and was graduated from Anhui University’s School of Physics. Currently he works as a photographic artist based in Shanghai and Tokyo. His photographs are represented in numerous public and private collections, including those of the Friedrich Christian Flick Collection in Berlin and the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna etc.
About the curators:
RongRong (China) and inri (Japan) have been working together since 2000. Their works reflect the intimate world that they have created together, while pushing the boundaries of traditional black-and-white darkroom techniques. Their past critically acclaimed series of works, such as Mt. Fuji, In Nature, Liulitun, and Tsumari Story focus on the beauty of the human body in nature and the urban environment. Their recent work brings attention to the beauty and value of new beginnings in their shared life and surroundings, especially amidst a rapidly changing world.
In 2007, RongRong & inri established the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in the Caochangdi art district of Beijing, the premier platform for international communication. They also started the annual Three Shadows Photography Award to discover and encourage China's most promising photographers. In 2015,Three Shadows Photography Art Centre established by RongRong&inri organized Jimei X Arles International Photo Festival in partnership with Les Recontres d’Arles. RongRong&inri received the Outstanding Contribution to Photography prize at the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards.They are being recognised for both their careers as artists and their significant impact on Asian photography.
