这是AADU LECTURE第八期线上活动：我们邀请到滨河区BID的规划与发展经理Jeff Jamawat来聊聊国会大厦滨河区（Capitol Riverfront）的设计和规划。

参与本次活动，您将了解到：

Participants will be able to:

• Identify key projects in Capitol Riverfront through the lens of architecture and urban design;

• Understand the history of Capitol Riverfront, city planning policies, as well as micro and macro forces that help shape the neighborhood; and

• Explain the role of a BID (Business Improvement District) as a place-based urban change management entity.

国会大厦滨河区（Capitol Riverfront）是美国国会大厦南面的商业改善区（Business improvementdistrict，即BID），位于华盛顿特区的国会山（Capitol Hill）和阿纳科斯蒂亚河（Anacostia River）之间。500亩的占地面积、多功能的空间使用（mixed-use）和绝佳的地理位置让它发展迅速，目前正有超过5000户住宅单元、优质的公园和开放空间正在建设之中。

本次活动，我们邀请到滨河区BID的规划与发展经理Jeff Jamawat，来和我们聊一聊这片具有巨大潜力的街区。Jeff会向我们介绍滨河区的规划特点和各个分区内的重要项目和以及它们的设计；谈一谈城市规划与公共政策如何加速街区的转型和发展；并向我们介绍商业改善区（BID）这个美国地方规划机构在城市发展和设计中所承担的重要角色。讲座结束后，主持人熊敏会主持问答环节，提出观众关心的问题，并和Jeff进行讨论。

As planning and development manager of the Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District (BID), Jeff will give an overview of Capitol Riverfront’s subareas by highlighting key projects and the architects; discuss major city planning and public policy moves that accelerate the neighborhood’s transformation; and explain the role of a BID, specifically current planning and urban design initiatives. After the lecture, Min will moderate the Q&A with questions about the role of design in Jeff’s work and take questions from the audience.
