Man Who Stabbed 9 Students to Death Executed in China
By Sunny Wang
On April 27 of this year, 28-year-old Zhao Zewei walked into Mizhi County No.3 Middle School, in Shaanxi province, armed with three knives he purchased online. There, on the school grounds, Zhao stabbed nine students to death. Four other pupils suffered serious injuries in the attack.
Late last month, Zhao was executed for his crimes, after being sentenced to death by a Shaanxi court in July, according to Daily Mail. The court deemed his actions “despicable” and his method of killing cruel.
Zhao, who was unemployed at the time of the attack, allegedly carried out the mass murder because he had been bullied while attending the same school. Daily Mail reports that he originally intended to harm his former classmates, but after failing to locate them decided to direct his angst at the school’s current students.
Video footage circulating online captures the final moments of Zhao’s life, which ended with a bullet. Filmed by locals near the Mizhi country execution ground, the footage shows the killer being escorted to the execution site by a group of uniformed police officers. Watch below (VPN off):
