一、课文原文
Lesson 3 Please send me a card
Postcards always spoil my holidays. Last summer, I wentto Italy. I visited museums and sat in public gardens. A friendly waiter taughtme a few words of Italian. Then he lent me a book. I read a few lines, but Idid not understand a word. Every day I thought about postcards. My holidayspassed quickly, but I did not send any cards to my friends. On the last day Imade a big decision. I got up early and bought thirty-seven cards. I spent thewhole day in my room, but I did not write a single card!

二、重点句型或语法
本课的双宾动词是一个难点，在《新概念英语》第一册的21课和39课中，我们已经接触过双宾动词give。在本课出现了双宾动词teach、lend和send。双宾动词是指某些动词后面可以跟两个宾语，表物的sth.为直接宾语，表人的sb.为间接宾语。如：
He sent me a card. (send sb. sth.)
He sent a card to me. (send sth. to sb.)
双宾动词后的间接宾语在大多数情况下放在直接宾语的前面，如果间接宾语在后，间接宾语前必须加to或for，两者的区别在于：一般表示动作对某人而做用to，表示动作为某人而做用for。如：
He passed the salt to me. 他把盐递给了我。(他对我做了递盐的动作)
She bought a tie for me. 她为我买了一条领带。
当某物为代词it或them时，以give为例，一般只用give sth. to sb. 。例如：
I gave it to her.
而不用 ：
I gave her it.
又如：
Here are the keys. Give them to your father.
而不说 ：
Give your father them.
