下面我们继续本周《新概念英语2》第9课的重点句型或语法的分享。先来读一读课文：
一、课文原文
Lesson 9 A cold welcome
On Wednesday evening, we went to the Town Hall. It was the last day of the year and a large crowd of people had gathered under the Town Hall clock. It would strike twelve in twenty minutes' time. Fifteen minutes passed and then, at five to twelve, the clock stopped. The big minute hand did not move. We waited and waited, but nothing happened. Suddenly someone shouted, 'It's two minutes past twelve! The clock has stopped!' I looked at my watch. It was true. The big clock refused to welcome the New Year. At that moment everybody began to laugh and sing.

二、重点句型或语法
本课侧重表时间的介词用法，主要有at、in、on。
1. at 一般表示一天中的具体时间。如：at five o’clock、at 11:30、at midnight 等，如：
The shops close at 5:30 every day.
They arrived at 8 o’clock yesterday.
2. on 一般后接星期或日期，如：on Sunday(s)、on New Year’s Day、on June 6th 等。如：
What do you usually do on Sundays?
The concert is on October 1st.
3. in 一般后接月份、季度和年份，如：in April、in 2003、in spring等。如：
Eva was born in 1986.
The park is beautiful in spring.
介词at有固定搭配，如：at night / at the weekend / at Christmas / at the end of / at the moment等，例句：
Will you be here at the weekend?
Are you busy at the moment?
我们通常说 in the morning / in the afternoon / in the evening, 但在表示某星期几的上下午或晚上前，用介词on, 如：on Friday morning / on Sunday afternoon / on Tuesday evening，如：
I always feel good in the morning.
Do you work on Saturday evenings?
另外，需要注意at / on / in不用在this / last /next / every之前，例如：
I will see you next Friday. （不用 on next Friday）
We go on holiday every summer. （不用 on every summer）
除了上面的on / in / at以外，常见的表时间的介词还有 from...to..., till, not...until..., during等。
