赵薇遭全网封杀，政府出手整治娱乐圈，外媒是怎么报道的？丨外刊精读丨平行阅读

8月26日起，网友发现赵薇已经被多个平台除名。参演的电视剧、电影不是从演员表中消失，就是被下架，连微博超话也被关闭。今天我们看一下外媒对这件事是怎么报道的。

今天的内容主要有：

1. Fortune（《财富》）杂志的报道；

一、Fortune《财富》杂志的报道

这段共有三句话，分别从视频平台、电影信息网站和微博三个角度，讲了赵薇被封杀的情况。

先看①句，视频平台下架赵薇作品：

①Tencent Video and iQiyi, China's most popular video streaming platforms, removed all films and TV series starring Zhao.

腾讯视频和爱奇艺（中国最流行的视频流媒体平台）都下架了赵薇主演的所有电影和电视剧。

这句话的主干是：Tencent Video and iQiyi removed all films and TV series starring Zhao.

腾讯视频和爱奇艺下架了赵薇主演的所有电影和电视剧。

其中 starring Zhao 是分词形式的后置定语，修饰 all films and TV series，意思是：赵薇主演的全部电影和电视剧。

star 作动词时表示“主演、由...担任主角”，所以既可以说 Zhao wei starred in the movie.，也可以说 The movie starred Zhaowei.，意思都是一样的，文中是第二种用法。

注意，这里表示“下架”，用的是 remove 一词。remove 是一个很好理解、但我们想不到去用的词，比如疫情得到控制，城市解除封锁，就可以说 remove Covid restrictions，政府解除对生育的限制，可以说 remove limits on births.

Tencent Video and iQiyi 后面跟了一个同位语，对腾讯视频和爱奇艺进行介绍：China's most popular video streaming platforms

腾讯视频和爱奇艺是中国最流行的视频流媒体平台。

这句话可以和 CNN 中的一句话对比来看：

Movies and television shows she starred in -- some going as far back as two decades ago -- were taken off streaming platforms, with her name also removed from the cast lists.

她主演的一些电影和电视剧——有些追溯到20年前——被撤下了流媒体平台，她的名字也从演员名单中删除。

这句话中，she starred in 是 Movies and television shows 的定语从句，这里的 star 是第一种用法，表示“主演”，可以和《财富》的 all films and TV series starring Zhao 对比一下。

“被撤下、删除”，Fortune 用的是 remove，CNN 用的是 take off，又积累到一组同义替换。

cast 作名词时指一部戏、剧、电影的“全体演员”，我们汉语中说的“卡司阵容”就是由 cast 音译过来的，文中 cast lists 是“演员表”的意思。

回到《财富》杂志中来，再看②句，电影信息网站将赵薇除名：

这句话的主干是：Movie information sites stripped Zhao’s name from films

电影信息网站将赵薇从电影中除名。

这句话中有一个重点搭配：strip from

strip 表示“脱衣服”这个动作，同 undress，比如 I stripped myself 我脱掉了衣服，I stripped to the waist 我脱掉了上衣。

后来 strip 不单指脱掉衣服，而泛指“脱掉、除掉(某种东西)”，同 remove，用法为 strip sth from sth，比如美国要求盟友将华为设备从基础设施中移除，就可以说 strip Huawei gear from the infrastructure，再比如超市某种商品被抢购一空，可以说  The goods were stripped from the shelves.

所以，stripped Zhao’s name from films 的意思是：把赵薇名字从电影中删除。

什么电影呢？films 后面跟了一个定语从句，进行补充：that credit her as a director or producer.

credit 这里作动词，在汉语里没有对应的翻译，我们要看一下它的英文解释：If people credit someone with an achievement or if it is credited to them, people say or believe that they were responsible for it，即，如果你 credit sb with an achievement（或 credit sb as+某种身份），你认为他对这一成就功不可没，可以根据语境翻译成“归功于、称赞”的意思，看个例句：

The staff are crediting him with having saved her life.职员们称赞他救了她的命。

China's national table tennis coach was credited with helping the team notching gold medals.中国乒乓球队获得多枚金牌，球队教练功不可没。

文中 films that credit her as a director or producer 可以理解成：有幸以赵薇为导演或制作人的电影。

我们把这句话连起来：Movie information sites stripped Zhao’s name from films that credit her as a director or producer.

电影信息网站(Movie information sites)把赵薇的名字从以她为导演或制作人的电影(films that credit her as a director or producer)中除名(stripped Zhao’s name from...)。

这句话可以和 New York Times 中的一句话对比来看：

在线视频和社交媒体网站也删除了关于赵薇（一位中国顶级女演员）的信息，原因尚不清楚。

for reasons 是个固定搭配，表示“因为...原因”，that remained unclear 是 reasons 的定语从句，意思是“尚不清楚的原因”。合起来就是：因为尚不清楚的原因，说人话：原因尚不清楚。

references 是复数，表示“提及”，后面加介词 to，references to Zhao Wei可理解成“对赵薇的提及、关于赵薇的信息”。

这句话表示“删除、抹去”，用的是 scrub，它本义是指用力“擦洗、刷洗”，比如擦地板、擦柜台就可以用 scrub 表示：scrub the floor, scrub the counters，文中 scrub references to Zhao Wei 的意思是：删除了和赵薇有关的信息。

scrub 可以同 remove, strip 替换。

Fortune 和 New York Times 用的词不一样，但表达的意思是一样的，所以，多进行平行阅读，可以让我们积累到更多、更丰富的表达。

最后看③句，微博删除赵薇粉丝网页：

③Twitter-like Weibo removed Zhao’s unofficial fan page.

类似推特的新浪微博删除了赵薇的非官方粉丝页面。

Twitter-like Weibo，类似推特的微博，因为老外不知道什么是“新浪微博”，所以作者在这里拿推特和新浪微博类比，Twitter-like，表述更加直观。

fan page 指“粉丝超话”。

这句话可以和 CNN 的报道对比来看：

Her fan page on Weibo, China's version of Twitter, was shut down.

赵薇在微博（中国版的推特）上的粉丝页面被关闭。

介绍微博时，Fortune 用的是 Twitter-like，CNN 用的是 China's version of Twitter，意思相近。举一反三，向老外介绍阿里巴巴时，可以说 Amazon-like Alibaba 或 China's version of Amazon.

表示“关闭/删除”之类的概念，Fortune 用的是 remove，CNN 用的是 shut down，可以一起积累下来。

二、ABC News

我们再看美国广播公司 ABC News 的报道：

One of China's biggest stars has had her name erased from Chinese video platforms, making her the latest public figure targeted by Beijing in its crackdown on "celebrity culture".

Billionaire Zhao Wei, also known as Vicky Zhao, is an award-winning Chinese actor and filmmaker.

She first found fame in the late 1990s in a Chinese TV series called My Fair Princess, in which she played the lead, before becoming one of China's biggest stars as an actor, filmmaker and businesswoman. 

中国最著名的一位明星被中国视频平台除名，这使她成为中国政府打击“明星文化”的最新公众人物目标。

亿万富翁赵薇，又名Vicky Zhao，是一位获奖的中国演员和电影制作人。

上世纪90年代末，她在一部中国电视剧《还珠格格》中首次成名，她在剧中担任主角。之后，她成为了中国最著名的演员、导演和商人。

这段话简要交代了赵薇被封杀的情况，并回顾了她成名史。

我们先来看第一段：

这句话的主干是：One of China's biggest stars has had her name erased from Chinese video platforms

中国最著名的一位明星被中国视频平台除名

主干中有一个关键搭配：have sth done，使某物被...，had her name erased from Chinese video platforms 的意思是：使她的名字从中国视频平台上被除名。

erase 是“擦除”的意思，同 remove，比如“消灭贫困”我们就可以说 erase poverty，非常形象。

在《扫黑风暴》中，徐英子受到侵害后 tried very hard to erase the memory of that evening 竭力忘却那天晚上发生的事情；中央督导组的任务是 erase injustices from Lvteng city.

回到文中来，主干后面跟了一个状语结构，表示结果：making her the latest public figure targeted by Beijing in its crackdown on "celebrity culture".

make A B 表示：使 A 成为 B，所以 making her the latest public figure 的意思是：使她成为最新的公共人物。

什么样的公众人物呢？public figure后面跟了一个分词形式的后置定语进行修饰：targeted by Beijing in its crackdown on "celebrity culture"

被中国政府在其打击“明星文化”的行动中瞄准的（公众人物）

crackdown 这个词记一下，表示“打击、打压”，后面加 on sth，它的动词表达为 crack down on，比如打击校外辅导、打击科技巨头垄断，就可以说：crack down on out-of-school tutoring, crack down on monopolistic tech giants.

第二段很简单，我们跳过，直接看第三段，回顾了赵薇成名史：

find/win/achieve/gain fame 都可以表示“出名、赢得名声”；

called My Fair Princess是分词形式的后置定语，修饰a Chinese TV series，意思是：一部叫《还珠格格》的中国电视剧。

My Fair Princess后面跟了一个定语从句，对《还珠格格》进行补充：in which she played the lead

which 指代前面的 My Fair Princess，我们带进去：in My Fair Princess, she played the lead.

lead 在这里是名词，指“主角”，play the lead 或 play the lead role 表示“饰演主角”，所以从句部分的意思是：在《还珠格格》里，赵薇饰演主角。

我们也可以用前面讲到的 star 改写一下：in which she starred 或 which starred Zhaowei.

接下来，句子后面又跟了一个时间状语结构，补充了赵薇后来的发展：before becoming one of China's biggest stars as an actor, filmmaker and businesswoman.
