is an important holiday

in the Chinese calendar.

中秋节是中国农历的一个重要节日。

Families 

and friends get together 

to enjoy the full moon

and eat moon cakes.

家人和朋友聚在一起欣赏满月并吃月饼。

Shops often display pictures of

Chang'e flying to the moon.

商店常常展示嫦娥奔月的图片。

The Dragon Boat Festival

is another traditional

Chinese festival.

端午节是另一个传统的中国节日。

People often remember

the Chinese poet Qu Yuan

on this day.

人们常常在这天纪念中国诗人屈原。

Qu Yuan

loved his people very much

when he was alive.

屈原活着的时候非常爱护百姓。

After he died in the river,

people were very sad.

在他投河自尽之后，百姓都非常伤心。

They decided to throw food

into the river to feed the fish,

他们决定往河里扔食物喂鱼，

so the fish

would not eat his body.

这样鱼就不会吃他的身体。

People 

also tried to scare the fish away

with the dragon-head boats.

人们还试着用一艘带着龙头的船

来将鱼吓跑。

Today, we eat zongzi

and race dragon boats

to remember this man—Qu Yuan.
