Welcome back and happy new year! In our assembly today we spoke of new year’s resolutions. There were some interesting pledges from teachers – from improving their Mandarin, to running a marathon, it seems that the staff at Dulwich Puxi are always keen to do better. We even have someone who has resolved to climb Mount Everest! 

Recently, Dulwich have launched their sustainability pledges, with 3 main focus areas:

1. Enhance student and staff wellbeing

2. Integrate sustainability into the curriculum

3. Be an environmentally and socially responsible organisation

To support this, the primary school will be making some new year’s resolutions, and we have asked the children to help us with the following small changes:

1. Reduce wasted food at lunch times by eating everything on their plate

2. Reduce plastic waste by taking care of classroom resources such as pens and rulers

3. Reduce paper waste by monitoring the amount of paper each class uses

4. Recycle old clothes by bringing these to the College Main Reception where we have the Reform Programme for recycling fashion

Please talk to your children at home about how their class will be achieving these resolutions.

In addition to this, Miss Burr will be launching the food garden, and each class in the DUCKs will be spending time planning, planting and harvesting food to use back in the classroom. Parents, if you have a love of gardening, please let us know –your voluntary support to help DUCKS students in the garden would be greatly appreciated.

新年快乐，欢迎回归！在今天的周会中我们谈及到新年的改革目标。当中老师们有些有趣的想法：改进他们的中文，参加马拉松，看起来德威浦西的员工都总是力求进步的。其中我们更有员工立志要攀登珠穆朗玛峰，你们能猜到是谁吗？

最近，德威浦西开展了我们的可持续性的方案，当中的三个重点为：

1. 增进学生和教职员的身心健康

2. 将可持续性融入课程

3. 成为一个对环境和社会负责的组织

为达到此目的，小学部将有不同的新年改革方案，希望同学们都一起可以参与这些微小的改变：

1. 完成所有午餐食物以减低浪费

2. 爱护教室资源，如钢笔和尺子，以减少塑料垃圾

3. 透过监察每班纸张的使用量，以减少浪费纸张

4. 把不穿的旧衣服带到学校行政楼前台回收，在那里我们有回收服装改革计划安排

请家长们在家可以与孩子讨论如何一起达到这些新目标。

I除此以外， Miss Burr更将会开展食物花园，DUCKS的每一班学生都会花时间来计划，种植，收割食物，并用于教室之内。家长们，如果你们热爱种植，请和我们联系，非常感谢你们对DUCKS学生们种植计划的支持。
