A: At about 6 a.m. local time on August 1, an unidentified man opened fire outside Chinese Consulate-General in Los Angeles and no one of the Consulate was killed or injured.
中方高度重视此事件，已向美方提出严正交涉，要求美方尽快破案，并采取切实有效措施，保障中国驻美使领馆、机构及人员安全。
The Chinese side takes this incident seriously and has already made serious representations with the United States. China requires the United States to solve the case as soon as possible and take concrete and effective measures to ensure the security of the Chinese diplomatic missions, institutes and personnel in the United States.

答：中方高度重视与东盟的友好合作，视东盟为周边外交优先方向和推进“一带一路”合作的重点地区。1991年中国—东盟建立对话关系以来，在双方共同努力下，政治互信不断增强，务实合作成果丰硕，双方关系已成为东盟同对话伙伴关系中最具活力、最富内涵的一组关系。中国和东盟国家在《南海各方行为宣言》框架下的海上合作不断取得新的进展，而且各方不久前达成“南海行为准则”框架，充分展现了我们维护南海和平稳定的共同愿望，为中国—东盟合作营造了良好氛围。
A: The Chinese side sets great store by its friendly cooperation with ASEAN and regards ASEAN as a priority of its neighborhood diplomacy and a key region in advancing cooperation under the Belt and Road initiative. Since the establishment of China-ASEAN dialogue relations in 1991, with the concerted efforts of both sides, political mutual trust has been strengthened and fruitful outcomes have been reaped in pragmatic cooperation. The China-ASEAN relations have become the most dynamic and substantive pair of relations among ASEAN's relations with its dialogue partners. New progress has been made on maritime cooperation between China and ASEAN countries within the framework of the DOC and not long ago, the framework of the COC was concluded, which fully demonstrates our shared aspiration to maintain peace and stability of the South China Sea and creates a sound atmosphere for China-ASEAN cooperation.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN and the China-ASEAN Year of Tourism Cooperation. Next year will mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN strategic partnership. The relations of the two sides are at an crucial juncture of building on the past achievements and ushering in the new phase of upgrading and elevation with new opportunities for growth. China stands ready to work with ASEAN countries, by bearing both the current situation and future in mind, to seek greater synergy between the Belt and Road initiative and the development strategies of ASEAN, deepen pragmatic cooperation, elevate the China-ASEAN strategic partnership and build a closer community of shared future with ASEAN. Meanwhile, China is willing to join hands with ASEAN countries to uphold the stability of the South China Sea which has not come by easily, steadily advance the consultation of the COC, promote maritime cooperation and jointly guide the East Asian regional cooperation so as to inject positive energy into regional integration and economic globalization.
