John Gibson：你估计的是正确的东西吗？——编辑视角【转】
John Gibson是 University of Waikato教授，有多篇以中国为主题的研究论文，同时也是Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics (AJARE) 的三个联合主编之一。这篇文章中他认为目前研究对研究设计（research design）与识别策略（identification strategy）非常关注，但是对测量误差（measurement error）、错误解释数据（misinterpreting data）关注度不高。作为经济学家，应该考虑研究方法的边际成本与边际收益。从这方面看，后者操作起来更容易、成本收益更高、更容易提高研究的可靠性与可用性。
以AJARE为例，他举了五个实例：

Confusing Quantity Response to Price with the Quality Response to Price
Zeros, Tobits, and Unconditional Expected Values
Ignoring Spillovers when Studying Inherently Spatial Phenomena
