2024 · International Summer Program on Marine Science & Culture
With the increasing importance of global climate change and marine resource issues, research and development in the field of marine science has become more critical. To establish a platform for communication among young marine science students worldwide, to stimulate their enthusiasm and creativity in learning and exchange, to broaden the international perspective on marine research, enhance cross-cultural communication skills, to promote teacher-student and institutional friendships, and to foster the cultivation of international, interdisciplinary, and innovative marine talents, an International Summer Program on Marine Science and Culture will be held from July 14th-20th, 2024, focusing on the frontier issues in marine science and culture.

Enrollment target
The summer program is open to graduate and senior undergraduate students (Class of 2022 and above) from all over the world in Marine Science and Culture disciplines. The summer program will enroll 30-40 students, with the final number being adjusted based on the number and quality of applicants.

General course design
The summer program will bring together the world's leading experts and scholars to deliver mini-courses, academic lectures, group discussions, practical experiments, visits, and other activities. Further details will be provided at a later date.

Haiqin Building No. 3 and Haiqin Building No. 6, Sun Yat-sen University Zhuhai Campus, Tangjiawan, Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China.

Other Matters
(1) Tuition and fees are waived for the summer program. Complimentary accommodation and meals are provided during the program. Participants need to cover all additional expenses themselves, including travel costs and personal accident insurance.
(2) The list of selected students will be announced on website of the School of Marine Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University (https://marine.sysu.edu.cn/) under the "Teaching and Academic Affairs" - "Academic Affairs Notices" section, and website of the School of Tourism, Sun Yat-sen University (https://stm.sysu.edu.cn/) under the "Notices" section. No further notice will be given to those not selected.
(3) Participants are required to observe discipline and comply with the relevant rules and regulations of Sun Yat-sen University during the summer program.
(4) Participants will receive a certificate of the summer program for attending the entire program.
