房主是一位年轻的艺术收藏家，十分信赖Corpus Studio业务水平（工作室由Konrad Steffensen 和 Ronan Le Grand 于 2017 年创立），希望设计团队最大限度地发挥空间的潜力。

A young art collector, the homeowner trusted Corpus Studio — founded in 2017 by Konrad Steffensen and Ronan Le Grand — to maximise the potential of the spaces. 

房屋建筑立面由砖石砌造，并且相对于房屋的狭长形式（最宽处只有 3.8m，最窄处只有 1.8m）呈一定角度。屋外有一个小后院花园与地块断开，内部流通受限。设计师需要对房屋的平面和空间分布进行完善，以达到客户的期待。

The  façade is made of brick and is at an angle, relative to the home’s long and narrow format (only 3.8m at its widest and 1.8m at its narrowest). There is a small backyard garden plot that was disconnected, and internal circulation was limited. The challenges presented by the site required a total rethink of the floor plan and the distribution of spaces that would be appropriate for the client’s request.

经过设计，房屋的每一层都有一个特定的使用功能（睡觉、生活、吃饭），且每一层都通过旋转楼梯的垂直轴有机连接。通过这个项目，建筑师们巧妙运用了体积、形式与光影，创造了简约而克制的纯净空间。

After the design，The home is organised with one function per level (sleeping, living, eating), with each level connected by a vertical shaft. Through this project, the architects played with volume, form, light and shadow, created simple, restrained and pure space.

从最大的空间重组到最小的细节调整，一切都经过深思熟虑的考量。设计师二人多途径汲取灵感，打磨出这座原始而华丽的房子，里面充盈着众多艺术家的作品。伦敦的建筑体量，前世纪巴黎艺术家工作室的体量和窗户形制，意大利建筑师Carlo Scarpa对装饰细节的感知，和奥地利建筑师Adolf Loos的设计理论，都在这里产生了深远的影响。

Everything was carefully considered, from the biggest spatial changes to the smallest details. The duo drew inspiration from several sources for this raw and glam house filled with pieces by many artists. London’s architectural scale; the volumes and large windows of early century Parisian artists’ studios; Italian architect Carlo Scarpa’s sense of details; and Austrian architect Adolf Loos’ theory of designall had influence here.

Douglas、橡木、石膏、石灰涂料、花岗岩铺面、钢、铝和zellige瓷砖……这些材质的运用给朴素的空间增添了一丝温暖。中性简约的建筑饰面与内饰的色彩点缀相得益彰，例如餐厅的金丝雀黄圆桌，客厅的芥末黄天鹅绒沙发和干邑色皮椅。

Douglas and oak wood, plaster, limewash paint, granite paving, steel, aluminium and zellige tiles and so on, which add some warmth to the austere look. The neutral architectural finishes are complemented by touches of colour through the decoration, such as the canary yellow round table in the dining room, the mustard velvet sofa and cognac leather chair in the living room.

卧室，赤土色的丝绒窗帘于一方舒展，使空间徜徉在优雅的温意中。黄铜色落地灯静置一旁，回首顾盼，熠熠生辉。 暖黄色毛绒扶手椅倚靠一墙，可静久居坐，沉思遐想。 

In the bedroom,the terracotta Leliévre curtains is silently laid by one side, making the space elegant and warm.  The  Pierre Chareau floor lamp sits quietly and is tremendously glorious. Also, a Pierre Augustin Rose armchair is near one white wall, on which client can sit and focus on a deep thought.

Steffensen 说：“强烈色彩对于整个项目而言非常重要，但不要过度使用，这样可以还原材料和纹理的自然本味。”

“It was very important to shine a light on the strong colours we chose throughout the project, while not overdoing it so that the natural materials and textures could be appreciated too”,

设计师对房体部分进行了重大的修改整顿，例如在地板、墙壁和天花板上开洞以安装窗户和中央楼梯，这与美国艺术家 Gordon Matta-Clark 的作品遥相呼应，自成一体。

Significant structural modifications were made by the designers, such as opening holes in floors, walls and ceilings to put in place new windows and the central staircase, echoing the work of American artist Gordon Matta-Clark.

Steffensen 和 Le Grand 总结道：“在对比强烈、出人意料但互补的作品中探索和谐之道” 。“设计没有规则、没有明显的时期特点或风格特质；一切都是自然而然地发生的。”

“Harmony was develped in contradiction and unexpected but complementary compositions”, conclude Steffensen and Le Grand. “No rules, periods or styles prevail; everything came naturally and instinctively.”

戏剧性的体量、光影的相互渗透，以及不拘一格的艺术组合，给这座房子带来了意想不到的复杂美感与丰富体验。

End：

The dramatic volume, varied penetration of shadow and light, and an eclectic composition of decorative arts give the house an unexpected complexity and richness of experience.
