Call for Students
August 26th-31st, 2019
The Summer School on Arts Management and Cultural Industries at Peking University will be held on August 26th, 2019. The theme of the summer school is “Cultural Heritages and the Activation of Originality” and it will be run in a workshop format. We will recruit about promising 30 students from the world.
The Summer School will be held by the Institute for Cultural Industries of Peking University. The school aims to not only generate new ideas and cultural soft power but also promote cultural talents of the youth. We expect to invite talented experts and students to simulate projects planning in cultural industries around creative method to revitalize cultural heritages.
II. Teaching Contents
30 participants will be split into 6 groups. Each group is required to finish a creative planning scheme about “Cultural Heritages and the Activation of Originality” on the last day of the summer school.

Deadline for project and resume submission: May 31st, 2019
Student qualification check: June 1st-20th, 2019
Notice of acceptance: June 21st-30th, 2019
Applicants should be a master student and should be ranked among the top 20% students in her/his class. Applicants should have excellent communication skills in English and have no record of academic and other kinds of misconduct.

Ⅵ. Requirements of the Creative Planning Scheme
1. In the context of regional integration, work around how to achieve the coordinated development of traditional cultural heritage to write about the creative designs, creative management and marketing programs of creative products or services.
2. Focus on how to develop and utilize the cultural heritage resources along the "one belt along the way" through the cultural industry's transnational cooperation. Write innovative design, creative management and marketing plan for cultural products or services.
3.Aim at the integration of cultural tourism and cultural relics tourism. Write about the creative design, creative management and marketing plan of creative products or services.
4 .Aim at the integration of traditional crafts and the aesthetic requirements of modern Life. Write about the creative design, creative management and marketing plan of creative products or services.
The plan needs to include the analysis on marketing, customers, business model, promotion, and budget. Applicants need to send the business proposal, the description on how to execute the plan, and marketing project estimate to us. The length of the plan text should be no less than 5000 words.
Ⅶ. What You will Acquire
A. The certificate of the summer school.
B. Students of the school will be provided with free food, accommodation, and study materials. Tuition is exempted. Students need to pay for their own transportation fees.
