In our country, 

在我们国家，

people celebrate special days in different ways.

人们用不同的方式庆祝特殊的日子。

Water-splashing Festival

泼水节

The Water-splashing Festival is the New Year in the Dai calendar.

泼水节是傣族的新年。

It usually takes place in mid April, 

通常在四月中旬，

and lasts three to seven days.

持续三到七天。

People dress up in traditional clothes 

人们穿着传统服装，

and splash water on anyone passing by.

向路过的人泼水。

The more you get splashed, 

你被泼得越多，

the more good luck you will have in the new year.

你在新的一年里就会有越多的好运。

Tibetan New Year

藏历新年

The Tibetan people celebrate the Tibetan New Year over a period of two weeks, 

藏族人民用两周的时间庆祝藏历新年，

usually during the months of December and January.

通常是在十二月和一月。

According to the Tibetan calendar, 

根据藏历，

the New Year lasts from the first day of the first month 

新年从正月初一

to the fifteenth day of the first month.

一直持续到正月十五。

The first tree days are the most important.

头几天是最重要的。

On the first day, 

第一天，

Tibetans get up early, take a bath and put on new clothes.

藏族人早起，洗个澡，穿上新衣服。

They stay at home to pray and celebrate.

他们呆在家里祈祷和庆祝。

On the second day, people visit relatives and friends.

第二天，人们拜访亲戚和朋友。

On the third day, each Tibetan family puts up a prayer flag

第三天，每个藏族家庭都会挂上一面祈祷旗， 

that will fly on their rooftop for the whole year.

Third Month Fair

三月街

For the Bai people,

对白族来说， 

the Third Month Fair is their most important festival.

三月街是他们最重要的节日。

They celebrate it every year during the third month of the Chinese calendar, 

他们每年在农历的第三个月庆祝，

from 15th to 20th of the month.

从15号到20号。

The Bai people hold the festival to pray for a good harvest.

白族人举行这个节日是为了祈求丰收。

There are dances, shows, sports, and horse races during the festival.

节日期间有舞蹈、表演、运动和赛马。
