The Antarctic Ice Sheet is an important sign of climate change.
DRAMATIC
In the journal Nature scientists report the ice sheet is quickly melting. Measurements taken on the ground and from space show a dramatic loss of ice in the past 5 years; almost 200,000 kilograms per year.
"Dramatic" describes change that is extreme or sudden. If a situation is dramatic, people will pay attention because it often includes extreme emotion and behavior.
"Dramatic" can also describe actors in a show.
