ROUTE DIRECTIONS
of the Department of Culture and Education of the German Consulate General in Shanghai
Note: The following text will introduce you both, the nearest route and the accessible route. If you only need the information about the nearest route, please start reading from step 3.
Step 1: If you use public transportation to visit us, please take Line 2 or 10, and get off at East Nanjing Road Station.
Step 2: The barrier-free elevator is located near Exit 2 of East Nanjing Road Station. After getting out of the barrier-free passage, please cross East Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street diagonally in southwest direction, and reach the intersection of East Nanjing Road and Middle Shandong Road.
Picture 1 shows the accessible exit near the street and the ramp leading to the pedestrian area.
Picture 2 shows the view of the pedestrian area in front of the Henderson Metropolitan building, on the opposite side is the Hongyi Plaza, and the Mosaic Plaza.
Step 3: Reach the intersection of East Nanjing Road and Middle Shandong Road. This intersection is next to Exit 3 of East Nanjing Road Station.
Picture 3 shows on the right side the Mosaic Plaza, and on the left side the Hongyi Plaza. The Middle Shandong Road lies between these two buildings.
Step 4: Reach Exit 3 of East Nanjing Road Station, and walk south for about 100 meters along Middle Shandong Road. There is a McDonald’s restaurant in direction south.

Step 5: Pass the intersection of Middle Shandong Road and Jiujiang Road. Keep on going for another 100 meters towards south.
Picture 5 shows the intersection of Jiujiang Road and Shandong Middle Road, with a Hong Kong-style restaurant on the right and a beef hot pot restaurant on the left.
Step 6: Pass the intersections of Middle Shandong Road and Hankou Road. Be careful, there are no traffic lights at Hankou Road intersection. Keep on going for another 50 meters towards south.

Step 7: Keep walking south for about 50 meters to reach the accessible entrance gate of the Cross Tower on the right side of Middle Shandong Road. The Cross Tower is the highest building on this street section. In front of the Cross Tower there is a small green belt with Osmanthus trees. You will find the entrance and lobby after walking alongside this way which is gently inclining.

Step 9: There are two automatic revolving doors and two accessible gates at the main entrance of the Cross Tower. Both gates lead you to the lobby. If you enter the Cross Tower lobby, you will find our accessible entrance directly at the right side. You are very welcome!
