本次由欧盟赞助的欧洲核心遗产项目共提供了15个博士培训生名额。其中,在与数字人文最为密切相关的“数字遗产”方向上,开放了4个名额,分别由四所大学主持参与。除了伦敦大学学院之外,剩余3所大学均在非英语国家。

Duties and Responsibilities
This is one of 15 PhD positions offered at 7 different European Higher Educational Institutions as part of the Critical Heritage Studies and the Future of Europe: Towards an integrated, interdisciplinary and transnational training model in cultural heritage research and management (CHEurope) doctoral training programme. CHeurope is funded by the EU under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) - Innovative Training Networks (ITN). The successful candidate will be based in the UCL Department of Information Studies and work on the ESR 8 Digital archives and articulating identities strand of the project, which will explore the intersections of digital archives and cultural heritage and how they mediate the construction and articulation of identities. The researcher will examine a number of different digital archives with the objective of understanding how the cultural heritage narratives they present are constructed and communicated and how they, in turn, may operate to include or exclude.
The position is funded for 36 months in the first instance (01 April 2017 to 31 March 2020).
Key Requirements
At the time the appointment is made, in order to qualify as a Marie Sklodowska - Curie Action Trainee (EU Early Stage Researcher), candidates must have under four years (full-time equivalent) research experience and not yet have been awarded a doctoral degree. This is measured from the date when they obtained the Master’s degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate. The candidates should not have spent more than 12 months in the United Kingdom in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment date.
Whilst researchers of any nationality can apply for this scheme, please note that the ESR Fellowships only cover the fee levels for EU citizens, not those for students from outside the EU. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Archives, Digital Humanities, Heritage Studies, Public History or Anthropology (or in an equivalent field). They must also have familiarity with the study of, or work experience in the archive and/or heritage sector (formal and/or community-based) and demonstrated an interest in comparative approaches to the study of digital heritage and the articulation of identities, as well as familiarity with the use of qualitative research methods applied to the reception of and engagement with digital materials.
