使馆发言人：你提到的信的内容纯属造谣污蔑，我们表示强烈不满和坚决反对。
我馆再次重申，中国新疆根本不存在某些人所说的民族、宗教、人权问题，而是反恐和去极端化问题。真相是近来美西方一些政客和媒体把新疆依法打击恐怖主义、极端主义污名化为“限制宗教信仰自由，打压穆斯林”，还编造了不少“关押、迫害宗教人士”的谎言。
新疆始终把做好民族工作作为实现社会稳定和长治久安的基础性工作，全面落实国家民族政策，坚持各民族一律平等，努力促进各民族共同团结、共同繁荣发展。新疆自治区政府充分保障各民族在饮食、节庆、婚丧礼仪等方面的风俗习惯；依法保障各民族使用和发展本民族语言文字的权利；保护和传承各民族优秀传统文化；大力培养使用少数民族干部，切实保障各族人民平等参与管理国家事务的权利和自主管理本地区本民族事务的权利。
中国的宗教政策符合中国国情、符合新疆实际，宗教信仰自由的宪法原则在新疆得到全面贯彻落实。新疆自治区政府依法保障各族群众的宗教信仰自由，信教或不信教完全由公民自主选择；持续改善清真寺公共服务条件；开办新疆伊斯兰教经学院及8所分院培养伊斯兰教后备人才；翻译出版汉文、维吾尔文、哈萨克文、柯尔克孜文等4种文字的宗教经典书籍。
中国人民是好客的，新疆的大门是敞开的。中方欢迎所有秉持客观公正立场的外国人士到新疆参访，我们对联合国人权高专巴切莱特访华并访疆始终持开放态度，欢迎她适时来访。事实上，2018年底以来，已有包括国际组织官员、外国政府官员、驻华使节、媒体、学者等在内的70余批外国团组共千余人赴新疆参访。我们欢迎任何不带偏见、平等友好的对话沟通，反对以所谓“国际调查”的名义干涉中国内政。

Question: In an open letter, MPs will be urged to campaign for the UK TO push for an independent United Nations investigation into alleged human rights abuses in Xinjiang. What is the comment of the Chinese Embassy in the UK?Embassy Spokesperson: The contents of the letter is sheer rumor and smear. We strongly deplore and oppose it.The Chinese Embassy would like to reiterate that the issue concerning Xinjiang is by no means about human rights, religion or ethnicity, but about combating violent terrorism and separatism. The truth is that recently some politicians and media in the United States and the West have stigmatized and distorted the lawful anti-terrorism and anti-extremism efforts in Xinjiang by claiming that they are “restriction of freedom of religious belief and oppression against Muslims”. Lies have been made up about “imprisonment and persecution of religious figures”.In Xinjiang, the well-being of all ethnic groups is regarded as the cornerstone of lasting social stability. In this region, China's ethnic policy based on equality between all ethnic groups is faithfully upheld. Efforts are made to promote the unity of all ethnic groups and their common prosperity and development.The government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region fully protects the customs and habits of all ethnic groups, including diets, festivals, weddings and funerals, rights to use and develop ethnic languages both spoken and written, and protection and inheritance of fine ethnic traditions and culture. Members of ethnic minorities are encouraged to run for public offices, and the rights of people of all ethnic groups to participate in the management of state affairs on an equal footing and to independently manage the affairs of their own ethnic groups in their respective regions are guaranteed.China's religious policy conforms to China's national conditions and the reality in Xinjiang's, and the constitutional principle of freedom of religious belief has been fully implemented in Xinjiang. The government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region protects the freedom of religious belief of people of all ethnic groups in accordance with law and it is entirely up to the citizens to choose whether they believe in a religion or not. Public services in places of worship have been under continuous improvement. The China Islamic Institute and its eight branches have been set up to preserve Islamic tradition, provide training, and translate and publish religious classics in Chinese, Uyghur, Kazak and Kirgiz languages.Chinese people are hospitable, and Xinjiang's door is open to the world. We always hold an open attitude on UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet visiting China and Xinjiang, and we welcome her visit at an appropriate time. In fact, since the end of 2018, more than 1,000 international organizations officials, foreign government officials, diplomats stationed in China, media personnel and scholars have visited Xinjiang in over 70 groups. We welcome unbiased, equal-footed and friendly dialogue and communication, but we oppose foreign interference under the pretext of "international evaluation".China upholds ethnic equality and unity within its border, and promotes progress in human rights in the world. We hope that China’s ethnic and religious policies and human rights progress in China will be seen, understood and appreciated in an objective and fair manner.
