Get First-Aid Training with BJU
Saturday, September 9 is World First Aid Day. Happy life-saving, everybody!
In an ideal world, everyone in the general public knows the basics of how to save a life. The world we live in, however, can sometimes fall short of this ideal. To help teach Beijing life-saving techniques like CPR, the Heimlich manoeuver, and stopping a wound from bleeding, Beijing United Family Hospital (BJU) offers first-aid training courses for groups of up to 12 people.
Our CPR course focuses on how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants. It’s a four-hour course after which participants receive a certificate of completion.
Our basic first-aid course offers training in how to deal with some of the most common medical emergencies you may come across, including injuries, choking, and anaphylaxis. Like our CPR course, it lasts four hours and comes with a certificate of completion.
Because saving a life isn’t a simple affair, it takes two of these in-depth, hands-on, four-hour courses to learn the most important aspects of first aid – both CPR and a host of other techniques. In addition to our small group courses, we also offer first-aid talks. There is no limit to the number of people who can participate in these talks, which provide a more basic overview of first aid.
If you’d like to sign up for our first-aid courses or talks, get in touch with us and we’ll help coordinate. We can currently only organize courses and talks for ready-made groups, not for individuals who wish to sign up one by one. If you already have a group of people interested in learning, email us at marketing_bju@ufh.com.cn and let us know the following:
- Which course or talk you would like to receive
- How many people are in your group (max. 12 for courses)
- When and where you would like to hold the session
The certificates we offer are from United Family Healthcare. If you wish to earn a first-aid certificate from the American Heart Association (AHA), we can also organize AHA-accredited training for a maximum of 6 people. These courses are 4-8 hours long and cost RMB 8,000-12,000. Please inquire for details.
